Jessica Ann Shoneck of Goldsboro and Richard Brandon McLawhon of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 7, 2012, at 6 p.m. at Rock Springs Center in Greenville, with Timothy Sharp officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Timothy and Felicia Shoneck of South Hadley, Mass., David and Cathy Stelly of Dudley and David Meraz of Bisbee, Ariz., and the granddaughter of James and Barbara Shoneck of Forestville, Conn., Patricia Lachmund and the late Paul Lachmund of Plantsville, Conn., William and Linda Woods of Plantsville, the late Judith Woods of Plantsville, the late Robert and Adela Meraz of Bisbee, Ariz., and Michael and Edie Vedas of Sumter, S.C.

She is a 2001 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2005 and 2006 graduate of East Carolina University. She is employed as an early childhood and school-age instructor at Wayne Community College.

The groom is the son of Richard and Barbara McLawhon of Mount Olive and the grandson of the late Mark and Gussie McLawhon of Goldsboro, Relma “Smitty” Smith of Mount Olive and the late Peggy Smith of Mount Olive.

He is a 2000 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2009 graduate of Wayne Community College. He is currently attending East Carolina University. He is employed as an insurance adjuster at Sentry Insurance.

The bride was escorted by Timothy Shoneck and David Meraz and given in marriage by her family.

Melissa DeCarlo served as matron of honor, while Kristi Thornton was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Lindsey Blackwell, Natalie Griffith, Heather King, Nicole Kovach, Kelly Meraz, Ashley Mitchell, Stefanie Trantham and Angel Williams

Honorary bridesmaids were Rachel Kreisle, Skylar Raynor and Meagan Sharp.

Richard McLawhon served as best man.

Groomsmen were Adam Brown, Brandon Jones, Robert Kovach, Mark McLawhon, Reynold Meraz, Darryl Mitchell, Daniel Pennington, Marcus Pennington, Phillip Pennington and Matthew Sharp.

Kinsee Wise and Kylee Wise were junior bridesmaids.

Anastasia McLawhon was flower girl.

Avery Maggard was ringbearer.

Presiding at the register were Michelle Pennington and Summer Pennington. Tammy Pennington and Megan Shoneck distributed programs.

Sound was provided by Joseph Collins.

Reception attendants were Crystal Jachmann and Tonya Wise.

A program of wedding music was provided by Scott DeCarlo, pianist; Rex Pennington, Marcus Pennington and Nicole Kovach, vocalists; violinist Paige Barwick; and guitarist Brandon Jones.

After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple resides in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a wedding shower April 15 at Hinnant Winery in Pine Level hosted by Crystal Jachmann, Micki Kreisle and Cathy Stelly; a bachelorette weekend April 20-22 in Mount Olive and Indian Beach hosted by Melissa DeCarlo, Brooks Garrett and Kristi Thornton; a bridal shower May 18 at Micro Pine-Level Elementary School hosted by the kindergarten team; a bridal shower June 1 in Dudley hosted by Cathy Stelly; a wedding shower June 16 at Thunder Swamp Church in Mount Olive hosted by aunts of the groom Amy Maggard, Gracie Smith, Rosamond Smith and Tammie Smith; a bachelor night June 23 in Zebulon hosted by Brandon Jones and Richard McLawhon; and a bridal brunch July 6 in Goldsboro hosted by Dr. Gool Gupta, Crystal Jachmann, Micki Kreisle and Cathy Stelly.
