Vied-Allen
Lauren Alexi Vied and Jerry Arthur Allen III exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 9, 2012, at 5:30 p.m. at The Brooklyn Arts Center in Wilmington, with R. Wes Boyd officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Paul E. Vied II and Saralynn Flores Vied of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Charles H. Vied of San Antonio, Texas, Charlene Bouwense of Toccoa, Ga., and Sara D. Flores and the late Humberto Flores of Corpus Christi, Texas.
She is a 2012 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is currently working as a photography teacher at Northern High School in Durham.
The groom is the son of Jerry Arthur Allen Jr. and Donna Williams Allen of Goldsboro and the grandson of Jerry Arthur Allen Sr. and the late Ruth Barefoot Allen of Clayton, the late Carroll Stanley Williams of Mount Olive and Geraldine Williams Taylor of Faison.
He is a 2012 graduate of North Carolina State University. He is currently attending the School of Dentistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
The bride wore a stunning chapel-length ivory silk taffeta ballgown with a sweetheart neckline by Watters. The bodice was intricately adorned in vintage lace-inspired beading and an embroidered flower motif. The bodice and skirt had a soft ivory tulle overlay. The bride’s sash was platinum with a pearl, rhinestone and tulle detail.
She wore an ivory chapel-length veil with a satin ribbon trim.
The bride’s bouquet included white garden roses, peonies, ranunculus, anemones and lamb’s ear. It was wrapped in a vintage handkerchief with her father’s Air Force wings.
Kaylyn Kraus was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Tess Allen, sister of the groom; Kristen Prosser, friend of the bride; and Marissa Aguilar, cousin of the bride.
Jerry Arthur Allen Jr., father of the groom, served as best man.
Groomsmen were Wyatt Vied, brother of the bride; Hunter Sampson, friend of the groom; and Nate Conte, friend of the groom.
Ushers were Adrian Izquierdo, cousin of the bride; Matt Cox and Travis DuBois, cousins of the groom; Joshua Mondragon and Vincent Mondragon, cousins of the bride.
Anabelle Booker was flower girl.
Warner Holland was ringbearer, and Beckett Gray served as the honorary ringbearer.
Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Gerri Cox, aunt of the groom, and Kelly Pfau, friend of bride.
The bride’s brother, Wyatt Vied on guitar, and bridesmaid Kristen Prosser played a special piece during ceremony.
Scripture readers were Laurinda Flores, godmother and aunt of the bride and Jerry Arthur Allen Jr., father of the groom.
Music was by Idaglia Florez, cello, Dr. Leila Flores-Duenas, upright bass and vocals, and Carol Vigil, guitar and vocals, all aunts of the bride.
The families hosted a dinner and dance following the ceremony.
After a wedding trip to Antigua and Paris, France, for their honeymoon, the couple resides in Chapel Hill.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents at a private residence in Wrightsville Beach.
Events held before the wedding included a wedding shower held for the couple hosted by the mothers of the bride and groom; and a bridal luncheon hosted by Gerri Cox, aunt of the groom, and Kristy Oates, cousin of the groom.
