HOLDEN BEACH — Kimberly Carmel Wilkins of Goldsboro and Nicholas Ryan Carpenter exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 8 at 4:30 p.m. at the private west end of Holden Beach, with Keith Wilson officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Alton Wilkins and Darlene Casey of Goldsboro, the stepdaughter of Jane Wilkins and Robert Casey and the granddaughter of the late Lenly and Etta Mae Wilkins of Princeton and the late Robert and Lucille Jinnette of Goldsboro.

She graduated from Rosewood High School in 1992 and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in counseling from Liberty University. She is employed as a qualified mental health professional at Coastal Southeastern United Care.

The groom is the son of Thomas and Evelyn Carpenter of Supply and the grandson of the late Glen and Vernie Carpenter of Supply and the late Ernest and Vera Smith of Ash.

He graduated from West Brunswick High School in 2001 and attended Brunswick Community College. He is employed as the warehouse supervisor at TheGPSstore.com.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white strapless taffeta side draped fit-and-flare gown with beaded appliques, lace up back detail and a sweep train.

For her headpiece, she chose a two-tiered tulle elbow-length veil embellished with a scalloped metallic beading.

She carried a bouquet of white roses.

Noah Carpenter, the groom’s son, served as best man.

A program of wedding music was provided by guitarist and vocalist, Keith Hughes

A poolside reception was held immediately following the ceremony at a private residence.

After taking a cruise to the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Supply.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower at the home of Jane and Alton Wilkins Aug. 28 hosted by Jane Wilkins, Carolyn Howell and Margaret Caviness.

The parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at First Baptist Church of Shallotte Oct. 7.
