Rebecca Hadley Peacock and Bennett James Johnson exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Jan. 14, 2012, at 6 p.m. at Saint Paul United Methodist Church, with James H. Harry officiating.

The bride is the daughter of John Swaringen Peacock Jr. and Janet King Peacock of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late John Swaringen Peacock Sr. and Beverly Davis Peacock of Goldsboro and Norma Surles King and the late Clyde Edward King of Goldsboro.

She is a 2005 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School, a 2009 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in exercise and sport science and 2011 graduate of East Carolina University with a Master of Science degree in exercise physiology. She is employed as an exercise physiologist at First Health of the Carolinas Cardiac Rehab in Pinehurst.

The groom is the son of Claibourne Oris and Susan Helmer Johnson of Wilson and the grandson of Eunice Hicks Johnson and the late Oris Leon Johnson of Wilson and the late Harry Radbourne and Peggy High Helmer of Elm City.

He is a 2006 graduate of Beddingfield High School and a 2010 graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education. He is employed as a health and PE teacher at Pinecrest High School in Southern Pines and as assistant football and baseball coach at Pinecrest.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an ivory satin gown that had a beaded lace overlay, deep halter neckline and a fit-and-flare silhouette with a chapel-length ivory veil.

She carried a hand-tied bouquet of winter white flowers with peacock feathers to accent.

Mary Clyde Peacock and Mallory Peacock, sisters of the bride, were maids of honor.

Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Anderson, Kelby Beale, Mimi Bridgers, Barbara Doggett, Grace Anne Edwards, Miranda Evans, Leah Lovett, Rebekah Parker and Nancy Perkins, friends of the bride.

Clay Johnson served as his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Jacob Johnson, Phillip Johnson and Travis Johnson, brothers of the groom, and Eddie Chavis, David Helms, Taylor Kluttz, Aaron Olsen, Will Sigmon, Thomas Welch and Chris Wheeler, friends of the groom.

Shelia Warrick directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Miss Stuart Roberson. Malissa Wiggins and Leslie Wiggins distributed programs.

Becky Johnson, sister-in-law of the groom, read Scripture.

Special music was provided by Mallory Peacock and Phillip Johnson. Alice Campbell was the organist, accompanied by James Old and Joseph Brinson, trumpeters.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club.

Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Wiggins and Mr. and Mrs. Rick Hughes were greeters at the reception.

After a wedding trip to New York City, the couple resides in Aberdeen.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Goldsboro Country Club.
