Stephanie Suzanne Sauls and John Edward Kosarek of Pikeville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. at Pikeville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with Dr. Don Sauls officiating.

The bride is the daughter of David and Vicky Daniels Sauls of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late John Irwin Sauls, Doris Suggs Sauls and Thelma Brogden Daniels of Pikeville and the late Maxwell Daniels of Dudley.

She is a honor graduate of Charles B. Aycock in 2004 and East Carolina University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is employed as a nurse at Wayne Memorial.

The groom is the son of Edward and Connie Kosarek of Goldsboro and Paul and Jo Ann Gary of Maurice, La., and Paul and the grandson of the late John and Natalie Kosarek of Abbeville and Elizabeth LeBlanc of Erath, La. and Willie and Rita Gary of Lafayette, La.

He is a 2002 honor graduate of Eastern Wayne High school. He is employed as sales associate at Lowe’s Home Improvement.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a Ivory all-lace mermaid-style dress with a sweetheart neckline and cap sleeves. The back of the gown had keyhole cutout and a train. The waist of the gown featured a sash with silver and pearl embellishments.

Her headpiece was a handmade vintage-inspired birdcage veil with French netting and a magnolia with a rhinestone center and ostrich feathers.

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of yellow Gerber daisies, orange lilies, yellow salladago, red berries, rosemary and an assortment of fall leaves.

Elizather Mooring Sutton, cousin of the bride, and Christa Serlick O’Neill, friend of the bride, were matrons of honor.

Bridesmaids were Amber Hill Sauls, sister-in-law of the bride, Mika Pousson, Erin Henson and Jacqueline Schmidt, friends of the bride; and Leslie Sasser Boothman, college roommate.

Jacque Kosarek was his brother’s best man.

Groomsmen were Jeramin Gary, brother of the groom; David L. Sauls Jr. and Stuart Sauls, brothers of the bride; and Matt Henson, Scott Pisano and Miguel Suncin, friends of the groom.

Ushers were Daniel Sauls, cousin of the bride, and Dayon Royster and Rory Pousson, friends of the groom.

Veda O'Neill, goddaughter of the couple, and Callaway Sauls, niece of the bride, were flower girls. Kaigen Pousson, friend of the couple, was ringbearer.

Jay Sauls, cousin of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Julie Howell. Kennedi Howell and Riley Howell distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jeff Martin, sound technician, and Jay Sauls and Kristen Williams, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a dinner reception was held at The Brick Village. Paige Serlick, cut the wedding cake. Dawn and Sydney Edmundson greeted guests.

After their wedding trip to Destin, Fla., the couple will reside in Pikeville.

Events held before the wedding included a Christmas shower Jan. 2 at the home of Robin Mooring hosted by Ms. Mooring and Elizabeth Mooring Sutton; a wedding shower in March at the home of Jo Ann Gary in Maurice, hosted by the groom’s mother; a bachelor weekend Aug. 26-28 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by friends of the groom; a bachelorette weekend Aug. 26-28 in Charleston, S.C., hosted by friends of the bride; a work shower Sept. 9 at Wayne Memorial hosted by the second floor; a lingerie shower Sept. 10 at the home of Christa Serlick O’Neill hosted by Ms. O’Neill; a wedding shower Sept. 11 at Pikeville Church hosted by the bride’s mother; a bridal luncheon Oct. 8 at the Picnic Basket in Kinston hosted by Robin Mooring and Elizabeth Sutton Moooring; and a bachelor night out Oct. 12 in Greenville hosted by friends of the groom.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Pikeville Church.
