Elizabeth Anne Haverkamp and Auden Olivier Kaehler exchanged vows Aug. 6 at 11:30 a.m. at New York Avenue Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C., with the Rev. Tara Spuhler McCabe officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. John and Judy Haverkamp and the granddaughter of Mildred Pifer.

She is a graduate of Goldsboro High School, Salem College, George Washington University in Washington, D.C., with a master’s degree and L’Academie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg, Md., with a certificate in pastry.

The groom is the son of the late Dr. Susan Kaehler of Milwaukee, Wisc., and Donal Kaehler of Boise, Idaho, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Kaehler and Mrs. Mary Phelps.

He is a graduate of West High School in Wisconsin and Northeastern University in Boston, Mass.

The bride was escorted by her parents.

She wore her sister’s sleeveless gown of white silk-faced satin. It featured a bateau neckline and a waistline with a band of ivory silk-faced satin adorned with Alencon lace motifs and hand-rolled silk rosettes. It had a V-neck back with covered buttons and a full-length chapel train.

Her headpiece was a single-tiered veil of silk illusion.

The bride carried a bouquet of yellow roses and green hydrangeas.

Mary L. Cousins of Washington, D.C., friend of the couple, was the maid of honor.

Craig T. Fessenden of Washington, D.C., friend of the couple, was best man.

Ushers were Brother-in-laws, Rutledge Davies and Benjamin Reed, brothers-in-law.

Brown, Ellis and Sam Davies and Jada, Marli and Isaiah Reed, nieces and nephews of the couple, distributed programs.

Matthew Haverkamp, brother of the bride, and William McLeod, friend of the couple, were readers.

Hester Haverkamp Davies, sister of the bride, and Aisha Thomas Reed, sister of the groom, were candlelighters.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jeremy Thal, friend of the groom, French horn.

Following the ceremony, a brunch reception was held at Whittemore House.

After their wedding trip to Paris, Va., Wisconsin and Idaho, the couple will reside in Leeds, England, where the groom attends the University of Leeds and the bride will further her career in the pastry industry.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal tea in Washington, D.C., hosted by Hester Haverkamp Davies, sister of the bride, Amy Richardson, sister-in-law of the bride, and the bride’s aunts.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner in Washington, D.C.
