Sutton - Sasser
Katherine Paige Sasser of Emerald Isle and Blake Morris Sutton of Emerald Isle exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. at The Ocean Club in Indian Beach, with the Rev. Eddie Barber officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Don Carson and Rebecca Millard Sasser of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Clawson and Leavie Sasser of Goldsboro and the late Gray and Mary Ann Millard of Kenly.
She is a 2003 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2007 graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in elementary education. She is employed as a first-grade teacher at Tiller School in Beaufort.
The groom is the son of Roger Morris and Terri Hart Sutton of LaGrange and the grandson of Billy and Shirley Sutton of LaGrange, Yvonne Smith of Pikeville and the late Wilbur Hart of Goldsboro.
He is a 2003 graduate of North Lenoir High School andattended Pitt Community College and East Carolina University, majoring in business administration. He is employed as a restaurant manager at Lazzara’s in Emerald Isle.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a a strapless ivory organza gown with a sweetheart neckline and a pick-up skirt with a flower embellishment on the hip.
Her headpiece was a fingertip one-tiered veil with a pearl and rhinestone edge.
The bride carried a bouquet of white and green cymbidium orchids and miniature peach calla lilies with her grandmother’s wedding ring tied in the center.
Mary Beth Hooks was her cousin’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Madison Dixon, Casi Mooring and Mary Ritten, friends of the bride, and Faith Sutton, sister of the groom.
Roger Sutton was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Craig Radford and Matt Turner, friends of the groom; Carson Sasser, brother of the bride; and Josh Westheimer, cousin of the groom.
Ushers were Bryson Boyette and Christopher Hooks, cousins of the bride, and Matt Westheimer, cousin of the groom.
Blair Boyette, cousin of the bride, and Averi Westheimer, cousin of the groom, were flower girls. Ethan Boyette, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.
Rachel Deere-Munro directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Elizabeth Sutton, cousin of the groom. Savannah Sutton, cousin of the groom, distributed programs.
Addyson, Landon, and Reed Westheimer, cousins of the groom, were special helpers.
A program of wedding music was provided by Sam Manriquez, guitarist, and Jordan Rouse, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Ocean Club.
After their wedding trip to Barbados, the couple will reside in Emerald Isle.
Events held before the wedding include an engagement party June 16 hosted by the bride’s family; a bridal shower July 31 at Walnut Creek Country Club hosted by the groom’s family; a luau Aug. 14 at the home of Roger and Terri Sutton hosted by the groom’s family; a bachelorette weekend Sept. 23-25 in Emerald Isle; a bachelor weekend Sept. 30-Oct. 2 in Emerald Isle’ and an ABC shower Oct. 6 at Tiller School hosted by co-workers of the bride.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Riverside Steak and Seafood in Swansboro.
