Ashley Ellen Lewis of Wilmington and Terry Jaron Locklear of Wilmington exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 20 at 5:30 p.m. at a outdoor wedding at Harbon Village Marina in Hampstead, with pastor Doug and Ann Bartlett officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Harold Frederick Lewis Jr. and Susan Grady Lewis of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of the late Harold F. Lewis and Betty Kelly Lewis, Mattie Baker Grady and the late James H. Grady of Mount Olive.

The bride graduated from Southern Wayne in 1999 and James Sprunt Community College with an associate degree in nursing. She is a homemaker.

The groom is the son of Terry Gibson of Fairmont and Cindy Locklear Williamson of Lumberton, the stepson of Kent Williamson and Joanne Gibson and the grandson of Barbara Gibson and the late James Gibson of Fairmont and Hazel Locklaer and the late James Locklear of Lumberton.

The groom graduated in 1996 from Fairmont High School. He is employed as a foreman at Blown Rite Insulation.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a ivory silk taffeta strapless sweetheart neckline and with shirred tulle bodice and chapel train.

Her headpiece was two-tiered tulle fingertip-length veil embellished with a beaded stitched edge. The bride also wore the diamond that her grandmother wore on her wedding day in 1944.

Kelly Lewis Brock was matron of honor, while Jasmine Locklear was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Terrie Rose Locklean, Caroline Haithock and Kimberly Weeks.

Eddie Treusch was the best man.

Groomsmen were Benjamin Locklear, Brandon Brock, Matthew Brogden and Nigel Brown.

Ushers were Dewayne Sweat, Ryan Greer, Kohl Smith and Joel Brown.

Honorary bridesmaids were Abby Suttom, Tasha Oxendine, Ashley Adams and Kasandra Sweat.

Megan Langston was the junior bridesmaid.

Kaydynce Ellen Lockear was flower girl. Braydon Lewis Brock was the ringbearer.

Dana Langston directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Megan Lewis. Taylor Mills distributed programs.

Special helpers were Lane and Ethan Sutton and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Jackson.

A program of wedding music was provided by Abby Sutton and Spencer Langston, vocalists, and Mr. and Mrs. John Gurley.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance was held at Castle Bay Country Club in Hampstead, directed by Jennifer Barwick. Ray and Ellen Brogden greeted guests. Tammy Oats served the wedding cake.

After their wedding trip to Key West, Fla., the couple will reside in Wilmington.

Events held before the wedding included an engagement party Oct. 31 hosted by the bride’s family; a girls’ weekend April 29 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by Renee and Abby Sutton; a shower June 26 at Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Ray Brogden and Mr. and Mrs. Benny Oats, family of the bride; a luau and gift card shower July 23 at the home of Matt Brogden of Wilmington hosted by Ray and Ellen Brogden, Benny and Tammy Oats, Michelle Secrist and Bodgen; a bridesmaids’ luncheon Aug. 13 at the home of Kelly Brock hosted by Linda Langston and Ms. Brock; and a deep sea fishing trip Aug. 13 hosted by the groomsmen.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Calabash Seafood in Wilmington.
