Woodard-Buie
Ola Buie of Jacksonville and William Earl Woodard of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 30 at 2 p.m. at Deliverance Evangelistic Temple in Jacksonville, with pastor Virgin Robinson officiating, assisted by elder Marc Jackson. son-in-law of the bride.
The bride is an ordained minister.
The groom is the son of the late Allen J. and Mary Lee Best Woodard of Goldsboro.
He is self-employed as a carpenter and cabinmaker.
The bride was escorted by Raymond Buie II, son, and given in marriage by her children.
She wore an ivory satin gown with a sweetheart neckline and a matching jacket.
The bride carried a clutch bouquet of white and pink roses.
Monica B. Jackson, daughter, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Michelle W. Roberts and Priscilla Ward, daughters of the groom, and LaKebra B. Wilson, daughter of the bride.
William E. Ward was his father’s best man.
Groomsmen were Curtis Bynum, Cleveland Morgan and Ibrahim Well, friends of the groom.
Ushers were Marion Bryant and Larry Vaughn, friends of the groom.
Shakevia Woodard, granddaughter of the groom, was flower girl. Ahmad Buie, grandson of the bride, was ringbearer.
Shirley B. Holland directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Flonnie W. George, sister of groom. Summer Jackson, granddaughter of the bride, distributed programs.
Dorothy Hardy, sister of the groom, was the wedding planner.
A program of wedding music was provided by Monica B. Jackson, daughter of the bride, vocalist, and Bill Bradley, audio technician.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.
After their wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
The bride’s church ministry hosted a rehearsal dinner at New Covenant Church Ministries.
