Alexxis Raechelle Kirkland of Knightdale and Anthony Victor Castrati of Knightdale exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 29 at 6 p.m. at Sisters’ Garden in Raleigh, with the Rev. Kayelily Middleton officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Clifton Randol Kirkland Jr. and Jirapa B. Kirkland of Pikeville and the granddaughter of Amanda L. and David Herring and Stephen L. and Sangob W. Wiseman of Goldsboro and the late Clifton Randol Kirkland of Pikeville.

She is a 2004 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2007 graduate of Mount Olive College with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She is employed at Hidden Valley Animal Hospital in Raleigh as a veterinary technician.

The groom is the son of John Adrian Castrati of Florence, N.J., and Bethanne Wolfe Castrati of Goldsboro and the grandson of Carol Castrati and the late Victor Castrati of Morrestown, N.J., and Bruce and Linda Wolfe of Goldsboro.

He is a 2004 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and attends North Carolina State University for a degree in computer science. He is employed with the city of Raleigh as a systems programmer/analyst.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a taffeta sleeveless ballgown with a ruched surplice sweetheart neckline, beaded lace straps and draped pickups on the front and back of the skirt with a chapel-length train.

Her hair headpiece was silver and crystal.

The bride carried a bouquet of stargazer lilies.

Joyce Epps was matron of honor, while Antoine Sharpe was man of honor.

Bridesmaids were Ashley Aanenson and Alyssa Bruha.

Ryan Castrati and Justin Castrati were best men.

Groomsmen were Stephan Mercatoris and Shaun Maier.

Ushers were the groomsmen and Antoine Sharpe.

Mikki Butts and Jennifer Anderson directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Sharon Warrick.

Aisle runners were Wayne E. Murphy and Fernando Orozco. Gift attendant was Richard Vaughan.

A program of wedding music was provided by Joseph Minner, DJ.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Sisters’ Garden.

After their wedding trip to French Polynesia, Moorea and Bora Bora, the couple will reside in Knightdale.

Events held before the wedding included an engagement party Oct. 9 at the home of Jennifer and Tracy Anderson hosted by the bride’s parents and grandparents; a wedding shower and house warming Feb. 26 hosted by the bride’s parents and bridal party; and a bachelor/bachelorette party at King’s Dominion hosted by Lindsay Luff and Brooke Schnur.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner May 28 at Nantucket Grill in Raleigh.
