Lenker - Vinson
April Nicole Vinson of Raleigh and Jonathan Neil Lenker of Raleigh exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 27 at 6 p.m. at Summit Church in Durham, with Pastor Jason Gaston officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Karen Walker Vinson and Mr. and Mrs. William Norwood Vinson of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Joyce Vinson and the late George Vinson Sr. of Atlantic Beach, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Walker of Wilson and Janice Nation and the late Dr. Roy Nation of LaGrange.
She is a 2005 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Duke University Medical Center.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Lenker of Virginia and the grandson of the Rev. and Mrs. Eugene Lenker and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Grimes.
He is a 2004 graduate of Faith Christian School in Rocky Mount and a 2008 graduate of Liberty University with a bachelor’s degree in religion. He attends graduate school at Southeastern Theological Institute in Wake Forest. He is employed at The Cheesecake Factory and as a youth minister at Summit Church.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
The bride wore a white strapless sweetheart neckline wedding dress.
Her headpiece was a white birdcage veil with feathers and pearls.
Lina Hoggard was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Sarah Carver, friend of the bride; Jennifer Dubose, sister of the groom; Sara Lenker, sister-in-law of the groom; Rebecca Vinson and Michelle Perkins, sisters of the bride; and Karena Vinson, niece of the bride.
Tyler English, friend of the groom, and Chris Lenker, brother of the groom, were best men.
Groomsmen were Dustin Dubose, brother-in-law of the groom, Jonathan Mc Corey, Brian Sanders and Marcus Kearsey and Nolan Robinson, friends of the groom.
Brianna Perkins, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Charlie Grimes, cousin of the groom, was ringbearer.
Ashley Wiley directed the wedding. Amy Bastro-Cox and Emily Morgan distributed programs.
Melissa Yeung, Amy Windemeier and the Summit Student Ministry were special helpers.
A program of wedding music was provided by Katie Baker, violinist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s family hosted a dinner reception at Summit Church.
After their wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
Events held before the wedding included a shower at the home of Janice Nation of LaGrange, grandmother of the bride, hosted by the brides’ family and friends; a shower at the home of the groom’s parents in Virginia hosted by the groom’s family; a shower at Summit Church hosted by friends of the bride; showers hosted by co-workers for the day and night shifts on floor 6300 at Duke Hospital; and a lingerie shower hosted by friends of the bride.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Summit Church.
