Ashley Elizabeth McCabe of Goldsboro and Robert Rice III of Raleigh exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 30 at 5 p.m. in Kure Beach, with the Rev. Vernon Braswell officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Tony Lee and Lisa Sasser McCabe of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Ralph McCabe, Joan Brogden and Rexford Bryan and Ruth Sutton Sasser of Goldsboro.

She graduated from Rosewood High School in 2003 and Wayne Community College with an associate degree in nursing. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse in the intensive care unit at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The groom is the son of Paul and Lisa Bednarchik of State College, P., and the grandson of Betty Rice of State, the late Robert Rice, Stan Person and Elaine Shoemaker of State College, Pa.

He graduated from State College Area High School in 1995, East Carolina University in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2006 with a master’s degree in anesthesia. He is employed as a certified registered nurse anesthetist at Besty Johnson Hospital.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

Amy Hope Lawhorn was her friend’s matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Melissa Howell, Mary Katherine Humphrey and Amanda Merritt, friends of the bride, and Ragan Threewitts, Diana Holland and Kristen Garner, cousins of the bride.

Tim Carlson, friend of the groom, and Tim Rice, brother of the groom, were best men.

Groomsmen were Mike Dudis, John Pozniak, Jared Carson, Brandon Payne and Austin McCabe, brother of the bride.

Alyssa Lawhorn was flower girl.

Presiding at the register was Brenda Rice. Cheryl Holland and Bella Holland distributed programs.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Sea Monster beach house in Kure Beach. Janice Rice cut the wedding cake.

After their wedding trip to Key West, Fla., and Charleston, S.C., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower Jan. 29 at the home of Jeff and Tammy Kincaid hosted by the CRNAs at Wayne Memorial Hospital; a bridal shower Feb. 20 at Rosewood First Baptist Church hosted by family and friends of the bride; a bridal shower March 17 at Murphy’s Place hosted by co-workers in the operating room and intensive care unit; a bachelorette weekend in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by bridesmaids and friends of the bride; and a bachelor weekend in Las Vegas, Nev., hosted by friends of the groom.
