Mary Katherine Humphrey and Blake Gurganus exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 11 at 4 p.m. at Rosewood First Baptist Church, with the Rev E.C. Mattocks officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Tommy Humphrey and Amelia Humphrey of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of George and JoAnn Humphrey and Bill and Janie Jackson of Goldsboro.

She is a 2004 graduate of Rosewood High School and a 2009 graduate of Barton College with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The groom is the son of Danny and Susan Gurganus and Roger and Marshelle Williams of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late George and Joyce Tyndall Gurganus, George Bedford and the late Donnie May Bedford of Goldsboro.

He is a 2002 graduate of Rosewood High School. He is employed as a sales representative at R.A. Jeffrey’s Distributing.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an ivory stain halter gown with pleated bust detail, metallic embroidered bodice and skirt and a cathedral-length train.

Her headpiece was a tiara comb of rhinestones and crystals.

The bride carried a bouquet of fuchsia stargazer lilies and roses wrapped in a white satin ribbon tied with her sister’s rhinestone heart brooch.

Kristen Garner was her friend’s matron of honor, while Kourtney Humphrey, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Lauren Waddell, Melissa Howell and Ashley Rice, friends of the bride, and Katie Hutchinson, niece of the groom.

Clint Hales was his friend’s best man.

Groomsmen were Jason Smith, Justin Lassiter, Gentry Minshew, Will Mullins and Clifton Cox, friends of the groom.

Macie Allison, friend of the bride, was the miniature bride. Hunter Lassiter, friend of the groom, was the miniature groom.

Ansley Hutchinson, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Wyatt Lassiter, friend of the groom, was ringbearer.

Beth Carr directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Rachael Kornegay, cousin of the bride. Charlotte Kornegay, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Judy Lewis, pianist, and Jeff Lane, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at Lane Tree Golf Course. Jeffrey Kornegay, Michael Kornegay, Nathan Kornegay and Stuart Kornegay, cousins of the bride, greeted guests. Susan Kornegay and Michele Kornegay, cousins of the bride, cut the wedding cake. Evan Kornegay and Emily Kornegay, cousins of the bride, were special helpers.

After their wedding trip to Atlantic Beach, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included an engagement party April 9 at the home of Frankie and Lynette Howell hosted by friends of the couple; a wedding shower April 17 hosted by Rosewood First Baptist Church; a bridal shower May 5 at Wayne Memorial Hospital hosted by co-workers of the bride; a bachelorette party May 14 hosted by friends of the bride; a his-and-hers shower May 21 at the home of Jackie Hawley hosted by Mandy Hutchinson and Ms. Hawley; a bridesmaids’ luncheon June 4 at the home of Susan Kornegay hosted by Ms. Kornegay, Michele Kornegay and Linda Kornegay; and a bachelor party June 5 hosted by friends of the groom.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the home of George and JoAnn Humphrey.
