Christa Nicole Ward of Smithfield and Darren Harrell Hinson exchanged vows in a single-ring ceremony March 26 at 2 p.m. at Yelverton Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church in Smithfield, with the Rev. Joseph Ballance officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Belinda Pelletier of Evensville, Tenn., and the late Tommy Ward of Smithfield and the granddaughter of Russell and Janice Ward and Linzey and Phyllis Toole of Smithfield.

She is a 2007 graduate of Princeton High School and a 2010 graduate of Johnston Community College with an associate degree in office administration. She is pursuing a certificate for medical records. She is employed part-time.

The groom is the son of L.H. and Jean Hinson of Eureka and the grandson of Nina Smith of Eureka.

He is a 1997 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. He is employed at Neuse Correctional and part-time at Piggly Wiggly as an assistant manager.

The bride was escorted by her grandfather, Russell Ward, and given in marriage by her family.

She wore a long sleeveless gown with sequins.

The bride carried shades of pink roses and other flowers.

Brittany Ward was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Amanda Lewis and Crystal Hinson.

L.H. Hinson was the best man.

Groomsmen were Jeff Ward and Brent Driver.

Eva Ballance directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jana Driver. Austin and Tyler Hinson distributed the programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Kevin Hill.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s family hosted a reception. A four-tiered cake with pink roses around the layers was served.

After their wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Dudley.

A rehearsal dinner was held at Yelverton Grove Church fellowship hall.
