Alexandra Linn Morrison of Raleigh and Matthew Ernest Smith of Raleigh exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 23 at 4 p.m. at Seaside United Methodist Church in Sunset Beach, with the Rev. David Rowan, uncle of the bride, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Linda Smith Morrison and the late Alan Lee Morrison of Ocean Isle Beach and the granddaughter of Ebba Jo Morrison and the late Rodrick Lee Morrison of Shallotte and Beryl Bradshaw Smith and the late Max Frasier Smith of Lenoir.

She is a 2003 graduate of West Brunswick High School, a 2007 of Campbell University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a 2008 graduate of Duke University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is employed as a pediatric nurse at Duke University Hospital.

The groom is the son of Kenneth and Lori Smith of Fremont and the grandson of the late Garland and Daisy Gooding of Goldsboro and Ernest Cooper Bissette and the late Louise Bissette of Pikeville.

He is a 2004 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2009 graduate of Campbell University with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree. He is employed as a project manager at T.A. Loving Co.

The bride was given in marriage by her mother.

She wore a chiffon and organza dune gown.

Christina Lee Morrison of Wilmington was her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Brooke Page Anderson, Tiffany Rachele Hobbs, Catherine Susanne Johnson, Jancy Hewett Killian, Kara Brooke Morgan, Bethany Diane Morrison, cousin of the bride, Destiney Breanne Smith, sister of the groom, and Katherine Ruth Tibbitts.

Kenneth Smith was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Silas Marion Cooley, Jarrod Ross Gouty, Kenneth Emerson Jones, Anthony Everett Pittman, Kyle James Quinlivan and Ross Perry Rowan, cousin of the bride.

Sheila Rowan, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Bethany Hobbs was greeter and distributed programs.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Isle’s Restaurant in Ocean Isle Beach.

After their wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
