Smith - McClarin
Katrina McClarin and Jevonn Smith of Passaic, N.J., exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 4 at 3 p.m. at St. Mark Church of Christ, with minister Chester McClarin officiating.
The bride is the daughter of minister Chester McClarin and the late Annie Colette Jacobs McClarin Stokes of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Albert and Odessa Whitley McClarin and minister Annie Rose Jacobs of Goldsboro and the late Willie “Candy” Jacobs of Washington, D.C.
She is a 1993 graduate of Goldsboro High School. She is employed as an accounting specialist at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The groom is the son of Arthur Smith of Clifton, N.J., and Belvely Artis Smith of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Melvin Smith and Viola Smith of Passaic and the late Conrad Artis and Mable Lee Artis of Goldsboro.
He is a 1991 graduate of Linden High School in New Jersey. He is employed as a logistics technician at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her father and her uncle, Willie Jacobs.
Kim Eason was her friend’s matron of honor, while Raegine Lewis, daughter of the bride, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Crystal Daniels, cousin of the bride; Lotorri Lewis, godsister of the bride; Latisha Darden, friend of the couple; Amber Artis, cousin of the groom; Brittany Sampson, goddaughter of the couple; and Donna Elliott, friend of the bride.
Arthur Smith, father of the groom, and Rico Artis, cousin of the groom, were best men.
Groomsmen were DeVonte’ Best and Chandler Evans, cousins of the bride; Conrad Artis III, cousin of the groom; Willie Jacobs Jr., cousin of the bride; Joshua Holloman, friend of the couple; and Sean Watlington, friend of the groom.
Jalyn Lewis, goddaughter of the bride, was flower girl. Jayden Lewis, godson of the bride, was the ringbearer.
Lillie Barnett, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Marie Best and Latricia Graham, cousins of the bride. Jeanice McCullen, niece of the bride, and Ajee Booker, niece of the groom, distributed the programs.
Hostesses were Charmaine Lassiter, Satora Green, LaShawn Jones, Renee Wells, LaShonda Artis, Torri Barnes, Betty Richardson, Sabrina Moses and Sorita Artis, friends of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by Kevin Alston, pianist, and Kevin Alston and Tracy Alston, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, a reception followed in the church fellowship hall.
After their wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a Jack and Jill shower June 12 at Herman Park Center hosted by Raegine Lewis, daughter of the bride ,and Lotorri Lewis, godsister of the bride; a surprise bridal luncheon June 14 at Logan’s hosted by co-workers of the bride; and a bridal getaway weekend Aug. 20 and 21 at Embassy Suites in Raleigh hosted by Kim Eason.
A fish fry rehearsal dinner was held at the home of the couple.
