Ashley Marie Hare of Kinston and Stephen Thomas Denmark of LaGrange exchanged vows Aug. 7 at 4:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in New Bern, with Dr. Steven Fitzgerald officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Kenneth E. Hare Jr. and Marie Hare of Kinston.

She graduated from Kenan Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of North Carolina School of Law.

The groom is the son of Edward Cobb Denmark III and Mary Denmark of LaGrange.

He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel and attends Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an ivory strapless gown with a trumpet silhouette and a semi-cathedral-length train. The gown was adorned with beaded Alencon lace appliqués hand-sewn onto point d’esprit over satin and a ruched sweetheart bustline. A broach was attached to the bustline adorned with Swarovski crystals.

Her headpiece was an ivory fingertip lace veil with a scalloped embroidered edge with fresh-water pearls and Swarovski crystals. It was attached to a silver hairpiece of a white satin ribbon bow, pearls and Swarovski crystals.

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white roses, white stephanotis and bear grass wrapped in white satin ribbon laced with pearls. A silver bracelet with clear stones was attached to the bouquet.

Beth Perry Horstick of Raleigh was her friend’s matron of honor.

Edward Cobb Denmark III was his son’s best man.

Bridesmaids were Molly Ann Carson of Charlotte, Kimberly Paige Casey of Atlanta, Ga., Sarah Davidson-Palmer of Durham, Melanie Sakatos Soberal of Bronx, N.Y., and Whitney Worley Gower of Raleigh, friends.

Groomsmen were Ramsey Tyler Archie of Kinston, Martin Rossie Jernigan and Ray Halford Womble III of Raleigh and William Weldon Liles of Wilmington, friends, and Matthew Edward Denmark of LaGrange, brother.

Britney Marie Rouse and Addison Paige Scott of Kinston, friends of the bride, were flower girls. Edward Jessup Taylor of Wilson, cousin of the groom, was ringbearer.

Leigh Welborn of New Bern directed the wedding. Sarah Jo Barringer of Charlotte distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Bettie Jo Oglesby of New Bern, organist.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at Hilton New Bern Riverfront in New Bern. Judy Haley was the coordinator.

After their wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Raleigh.

Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous bridal shower June 6 at the Picnic Basket in Kinston hosted by Judy Jones, Amanda Scott, Susan Oglesby and Brenda Case; a bachelorette weekend June 11 through 13 in Charleston, S.C., hosted by Beth Perry, Whitney Gower, Laura Kelly Lancaster, Lori McArthur and Molly Carson; a bachelor/golf weekend June 25 through 27 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by Austin Mooring, Tyler Archie, Matthew Denmark, Martin Jernigan, William Liles and Ray Womble; and a bridesmaids’ luncheon Aug. 6 at Chelsea Restaurant in New Bern hosted by Nancy Stallings, Tracy Tingle and Hope Tingen.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Aug. 6 at Chelsea Restaurant.
