Karrie Leigh Johnson and Joshua David Smith exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. at Church On The Rock, with pastor Joy Howell officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Willard Howard Johnson Jr. and Lee “Sim” Sessoms Johnson of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Willard Howard Johnson, Retha Mae Johnson, Barbara Bagwell Trail and the late David Martin Trail of Goldsboro.

She is a 2004 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2010 graduate of Wayne Community College. She is employed as an instructional assistant at Edgewood Developmental School.

The groom is the son of David Edward of Stokes and Charlene Lorraine Smith of Goldsboro and the grandson of Joyce Ann Smith and the late Byron Edward Smith of Indianapolis, Ind., and Geraldine Coates and the late Tommy Smith of Goldsboro.

He is a 2001 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and attends Wayne Community College, where he is pursuing a degree in nursing. He is employed as a customer service technician at AT&T.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a chiffon-over-satin A-line wedding gown with detachable cap sleeves, a split front and metallic embroidery with a chapel-length train.

Her headpiece was a rhinestone tiara with a finger-tip-length veil with metallic embroidery.

Ashley Paige Narron was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Courtney Howell, Kelli Narron and Jessica Best.

Jasper Warrick was the best man.

Groomsmen were Trey Johnson, Josh Narron and Joseph Best.

Katie Carey and Hannah Sessoms were junior bridesmaids.

Lauren Narron and Destiny Marshall were flower girls. Mason Best was ringbearer.

Jadyn Marshall was the miniature bride. Unique Marshall was the miniature groom.

Sue Floars directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Amy Daniels. Chloe Mooring and Kylee Smith distributed the programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Betty Grantham, pianist, and Brooks and Lauren Rogers, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s family hosted a reception at the church.

After their wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower July 25 at Church on the Rock hosted by family and friends; a lingerie shower Aug. 20 at the home of Courtney Howell hosted by the bridesmaids; a tool shower and fishing outing Aug. 28 hosted by Freddy Narron and Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Narron; and a bridesmaids’ luncheon Sept. 9 at the home of Betty Grantham hosted by Mrs. Grantham.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Sept. 9 at Church on the Rock.
