Nardesha Danielle Thompson and Charles Anthony Raiford of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 17 at 5:30 p.m. at Great Guiding Star United Holy Church Inc., with pastor Joseph Williams. officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Laura Mae Carmichael and the late Raymond Charlie Seaberry of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Alice “Big Ma” Seaberry, the late James Fields and Almareada Fields of Goldsboro.
She graduated from Goldsboro High School in 2003. She is employed as a developmental technician at O’Berry Center.
The groom is the son of Charles Anthony Raiford of Killeen, Texas, and Teresa Atkinson-Jones, the stepson of Luther Ray Jones, the grandson of Helen Marie Raiford, the late Charles Raiford and Willie Eugene and Virginia Mae Atkinson of Goldsboro and the great-grandson of Robert and Virginia Gerald of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Goldsboro High School in 2002 and North Carolina A&T State University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He is employed as a probation officer with the North Carolina Department of Corrections.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her brother, Lanado Thompson.
She wore a corset jeweled bodiced gown that had a gathered princess bottom.
Her headpiece was a jewel-encrusted tiara.
The bride carried black, purple and white flowers.
Nikia King was matron of honor, while Laronda Edwards was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Tamela Faison, Shonte Atkinson, Domineca Grady, Monica Broadie and Lashanda Thompson.
Dayton Fennell and Perez Raiford were the best men.
Groomsmen were Vincent Atkinson, Dekevias Atkinson, Antwan Moses, Roy Dingle and Philmore Harrington.
Ushers were Rayquon Jones, NyQwell Thompson, NaDarius Thompson and DeAaron King.
Alyvion Maddox was the miniature bride, escorted by Kemari Vick, the miniature groom.
Aviyah Raiford, Ari Raiford and Jamya Gregory were flower girls. Jvion Davis was the ringbearer.
Melisha Thompson directed the wedding. Michal Ward was church director. The ushers distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Kelvin Gerald, disc jockey; Stephen Melvin, pianist; and Mary Wade, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Rebuilding Broken Places. Lacosta Parker was the director.
After their wedding cruise to Belize, Honduras, Mexico and the Grand Cayman Islands, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
