SNOW HILL — Brittany Cole Stocks and John Taylor Malpass exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 16 at 6 p.m. at the home of Brian And Micki Tingen, with the Rev. Terry Heath officiating.

The bride is the daughter of William E. “Wes” and Rhonda Grant Stocks of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late William Earl and Kay Mooring Stocks of Hookerton and Ronny C. and Paulette Smith Grant of Snow Hill.

She is a 2007 honor graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2009 graduate of Wayne Community College. She is employed as an office assistant at Goldsboro Family Physicians.

The groom is the son of Robert Chris and Andrea Holtsclaw Malpass of Goldsboro and the grandson of Christine Price Malpass and the late Robert L. Malpass of Goldsboro and the Rev. Thomas G. and Jan Mason Holtsclaw of Roxboro.

He is a 2008 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School. He is employed as a musician with Hag Inc.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white strapless gown of duchess satin. The corset bodice featured a sweetheart neckline that was embroidered with metallic thread embellished with glass bugle beads and crystals. The crystal embellished drop waist flowed into a Cinderella skirt embroidered with metallic threading with a floral motif. The back of the gown featured a pleated waistline and covered buttons and flowed onto a cathedral train. The train was covered with floral metallic embroidery embellished with silver bugle beads, petite sequins and crystals.

Her headpiece was a white single-tiered fingertip-length silk tulle veil with metallic embroidery trimmed with Swarovski crystals.

The bride carried a bouquet of Gerber daisies and roses.

Sydney Brooke and WesLeigh Blair Stocks were their sister’s maids of honor.

Bridesmaids were Katherine Smith and Kensey Smith, friends of the bride, and Linda Malpass, sister-in-law of the couple.

Robert Chris Malpass, father of the groom, and Christopher Barrett Malpass, brother of the groom, were best men.

Groomsmen were Brooks Jones, Zach Carter and Tommy Dean, friends of the groom, and Hunter Chase and Zack Chase, cousins of the bride.

Anna Kearney, friend of the bride, was flower girl. Austin and Caleb Gay, friends of the bride, were ringbearers.

Micki Tingen directed the wedding. Madison and Perry Tingen distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Sharon Barrow, pianist; Sharon Barrow and Al Laws, vocalists; and Christopher Malpass, guitarist.

Following the ceremony, a cake cutting reception was held.

After their wedding trip to Atlantic Beach, the couple will reside in LaGrange.

Events held before the wedding included a bachelorette party May 7 in Atlantic Beach hosted by Micki Tingen and Barbara Smith; a surprise miscellaneous shower May 7 at Lotus 1899 Bistro and Lounge hosted by co-workers of the bride; a miscellaneous shower May 28 at Free Gospel Church hosted by the couple’s families; and an engagement party May 16 hosted by Ronny and Paulette Grant, Mike and Sharon Chase, Ken and Barbara Smith and Brian and Micki Tingen.

Tim and Gwen Holtsclaw, uncle and aunt of the groom, hosted a rehearsal dinner May 14 at Scrub Oaks Restaurant in Fayetteville.
