PIKEVILLE -- Christen Bette Huffman and Chad Douglas Honeycutt exchanged vows in an outdoor double-ring ceremony March 20 at 3:30 p.m. at the home of Doug and Kim Honeycutt, with Wes Boyd officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Cecil P. Huffman Jr. and Terri Pennington Huffman of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Irene Gurley Christie and the late James Christie of Parkton and the late Cecil P. Huffman Sr. and the late Milford and Betty McLawhon Pennington of Goldsboro.

She graduated from Rocky Mount High School in 2004 and Nash Community College with an associate degree in business administration.

The groom is the son of Doug and Kim Best Honeycutt of Pikeville and Julie Ann Lundquist of Goldsboro and the grandson of Jessie Ellen Honeycutt and the late Bobby Honeycutt, the late Evonne Price Honeycutt, Lorraine Broeckel Lundquist and the late John Lundquist of Goldsboro and Ann Smith Best of Pikeville.

He graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2001 and attended Wayne Community College. He served four years in the United States Marine Corps.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a formal gown of white satin with a strapless neckline. The side-draped bodice and chapel-length train were adorned with beaded lace. The A-line skirt was trimmed in tiers of beaded lace.

Her headpiece was a silver tiara accented with of pearls, crystals and rhinestones and a single-tiered elbow-length veil embellished with clusters of pearls and rhinestones.

The bride carried a handtied bouquet of yellow daffodils and pink tulips.

Celia Solarez was her sister's matron of honor.

Doug Honeycutt was his son's best man.

Ushers were Trey Huffman and Taylor Huffman, brothers of the bride, and Shaun Honeycutt, Brody Raynor, Forrest Honeycutt and Walker Honeycutt, brothers of the groom.

Dawn Gardner, friend of the groom's family, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Summer Honeycutt, sister of the groom.

A program of wedding music was provided by Marcus Pennington, cousin of the bride, and Shannon Prasad, friend of the couple, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, the groom's family hosted a pig picking reception at the home of the groom's parents. Kim Reeves and Joy McCrimmon, aunts of the groom, served the three-tiered wedding cake.

The couple took a wedding trip to Emerald Isle.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower Feb. 21 at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church fellowship hall hosted by Kim Corbitt, Jan Pennington, and Penny Jo Howell, aunts of the bride, and family of the bride; a lingerie shower March 6 at the home of Michelle Foss Pennington hosted by Celia Solarez, sister of the bride; and dessert with the bride March 14 at the home of Paula Boldt hosted by Mrs. Boldt, cousin of the groom.

The groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at their home.
