Candice Irene Phillips and Danny Beasley Jr. exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony March 21 at 5 p.m. at Lane Tree Club House, with the Rev. Scott T. Ezzell, father of the bride, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Scott Tugwell and Lillie Adams Ezzell of Pikeville and the granddaughter of Naomi Freeman Adams of Goldsboro.

She graduated from Mount Olive College in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and from East Carolina University in 2005 with a Master of Science degree in accounting. She is employed as an assistant controller at Best Distributing Co.

The groom is the son of Danny and Teresa Person Beasley of Pikeville and the grandson of Coralean Collins Beasley, the late Hubert Ashley Beasley and the late Lester and Ellen Jones Person of Goldsboro.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a silky satin with sheer organza gown. It had an A-line silhouette with a chapel train. A satin band at the hemline highlighted the beaded lace design on skirt, which complimented that on the top bodice. Cap sleeves in netting completed the gown.

Her headpiece was a clear crystal and rhinestone headband tiara.

The bride carried a fresh bouquet of stargazer lilies, lime green mums and hot pink and white roses with ruscus.

Michelle Tadlock was her friend’s matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Jamie Smith; Elizabeth Ezzell, sister of the bride; and Jessica Person, niece of the bride.

Danny Beasley Sr. was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen and ushers were Joshua Smith; Gary “Goobie” Lancaster Jr., cousin of the groom; and Ryan Tyndall.

Sherri Person, sister of the bride, was honorary matron of honor.

Haley Tadlock was flower girl. Justin Person, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.

Tina Hollar, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Wayne and Lisa Powell. Cally Andersen distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Joshua Ezzell and Elizabeth Ezzell, vocalists, siblings of the bride.

Following the ceremony, a dance reception was held at Lane Tree Club House. Gail Schrock, aunt of the bride, and Margaret Lancaster and Judy Hinson, aunts of the groom, served the wedding cake. Paula Long, friend of the bride, assisted with the pinning of boutonnieres.

After a wedding trip to Las Vegas, Nev., and Palm Springs, Calif., the couple resides in Pikeville.
