YOUNGSVILLE — Rebecca Lynne Lee and Jacob Michael Taylor exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 16 at 6 p.m. at Hidden Lake, with Donnie Darr officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Gregory and Tammy Lee of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Remus and Shelby Lee of Kinston and Hugh and Fosteen Ogburn of Willow Spring and the late Wayne Mayo of Goldsboro.

She is a 2003 homeschool graduate and a 2007 graduate of Meredith College with a Bachelor of Science degree in family and consumer sciences. She is employed as a family and consumer sciences teacher at Sanderson High School.

The groom is the son of Michael and Sheila Taylor of Hickory and the grandson of Denny and JoeAnne Harbinson, Mildred Van Dyke and the late Jack Van Dyke of Hickory.

He graduated in 2003 from East Burke High School and from North Carolina State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences. He is a physician assistant graduate student at Methodist University.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a strapless, mermaid silhouette gown of diamond white taffeta with lace appliqués and ruching around the waistline. Taffeta-covered buttons cascaded down the low-dipping back of the dress and chapel-length train.

Her headpiece was a tulle elbow-length veil.

The bride carried a clutch bouquet of miniature red calla lilies, red alstromeria, red roses, beargrass and variegated pittosporum.

Hannah Lee was her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Dana Laymon, friend of the bride; Susan Hill, college friend of the bride; and Katie Taylor, sister-in-law of the groom.

Michael Taylor was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Matt Taylor, brother of the groom, and Wil Hester and Christopher Neese, friends of the groom.

Ashley Hovis, friend of the bride, was the honorary bridesmaid.

Delanie Ogburn, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Tyler Peters, friend of the couple, was ringbearer.

Dana Kadwell and Courtney Hopper, friends of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Lindsay and Laura Beth Lee, cousins of the bride. Mic and Lauren McDowell, cousins of the groom, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by James Childs, guitarist, and Hannah Lee, sister of the bride, and Matt Taylor, brother of the groom, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a dinner and dance reception at Hidden Lake boat house and pavilion.

After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple reside in Raleigh.

Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ brunch Aug. 15 in Wake Forest hosted by Susan Moore, friend of the bride’s family; a miscellaneous shower July 19 in Cary hosted by Hannah Lee, sister of the bride, and Kay and Lauren McDowell, family of the groom; a bachelorette party and lingerie shower July 18 in Raleigh hosted by Hannah Lee, sister of the bride; a miscellaneous shower June 21 in Goldsboro hosted by Gray Sullivan, Caron Stewart and Sue Fallin, friends of the bride; a a family dinner shower June 19 in Hickory hosted by JoeAnne Harbinson, grandmother of the groom; a miscellaneous shower June 15 in Hickory hosted by Katie Taylor, sister-in-law of the groom; and a miscellaneous shower June 7 in Fuquay-Varina hosted by Nicole Ogburn, Fosteen Ogburn and Deborah Mitchell, family of the bride.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Aug. 15 at the Mill Room in Wake Forest.
