PINE LEVEL — Cristy Brooke Kornegay of Dudley and Joshua Brian King of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 17 at 5 p.m. at Hinnant Family Vineyards, with Ira Williford officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Charles Kornegay and Hope Kearney of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Betty Yelverton Kearney of Saulston, the late Brodie “Poppy” Kearney, James C. Kornegay and Julia B. Kornegay.

She is a graduate of Wayne Community College. She is employed as a certified dental assistant at H.G. Moore and Associates.

The groom is the son of William “Buddy” King of Kenly and the late Linda Wade King and the grandson of the late James and Celia Wade and the late Arthur and Rachel King.

He is a graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and Wayne Community College with an associate degree in automotive. He is employed as a salesman with R.A. Jeffery’s Distributing.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white strapless designer gown with a scalloped bodice and a drop waist with beaded lace. The organza pick-up ballgown featured beaded cluster accents and a chapel-length train.

Her headpiece was a jeweled tiara of silver with Swarovski crystals and rhinestone flowers attached to a white two-tiered veil with soutache edging and crystal-embellished floral motifs.

The bride carried a clutch bouquet of hot pink and pastel pink peonies and ranunculus with bells of Ireland and green buttons wrapped in hot pink and lime green ribbon.

Mandy Hutchinson was matron of honor, while April Taylor was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Kelly Mitchell and Liz Perkinson.

William “Buddy” King was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Todd Kornegay, brother of the bride, Travis Battle and V. Hadzijahic.

Katie Hutchinson was flower girl. Jordan Kornegay, son of the bride, was ringbearer.

Ronnie Wade, aunt of the groom, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Crystal Kornegay and Cynthia Aldridge, sister-in-law of the bride and her mother.

A program of wedding music was provided by Keith Waller with KW Music.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at Hinnant Family Vineyards.

After a wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a bachelorette party May 10 in Raleigh hosted by April Taylor; a bridal brunch April 19 at the home of Cheryl Wilson hosted by Ms. Wilson; a wedding shower April 6 at United in Christ Church hosted by Ronnie Wade and Cindy Blevins; and a bridal shower hosted by co-workers of the bride.

The groom’s father and Owen Jackson, friend of the family, hosted a rehearsal dinner at United in Christ Church.
