PIKEVILLE — Casey Leann Spivey of Princeton and Michael Douglas Stevens exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 19 at 2 p.m. at Pikeville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Donald G. Sauls officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie L. Spivey of Camden and the granddaughter of William A. Davis Sr. of Shawboro, the late Iva R. Davis and Irene C. Spivey of Tyner and the late Adolph M. Spivey.

She is a 2003 graduate of Camden High School and a 2007 graduate of North Carolina Wesleyan College with a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science. She is employed with the Wayne County Cooperative Extension Service.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard D. Stevens of Goldsboro and the grandson of Janet Stevens of Goldsboro, the late Sam Stevens, the late Thomas Sandy Bizzell and Hazel P. Bizzell.

He is a 2001 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2005 graduate of North Carolina Wesleyan College with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He is employed at SouthCo Distributing Co.

The bride was escorted by her father and presented in marriage by her family.

She wore a formal gown of diamond white Italian satin. The curved strapless neckline featured vertical pleating paired with a fitted bodice embellished with bugle beading and crystals entwined in a floral motif that extended to a natural waist. The full A-line skirt was enhanced with a matching bugle and crystal beaded pattern bordering the hemline of the gown and the chapel train.

Her headpiece was a single-tiered veil of diamond white illusion trimmed with diamond-cut bugle beading attached to a fingertip-length veil.

The bride carried a clutch bouquet of lilies, mombo roses, Gerber daisies, freesia, sasflower and heather with dendrobium orchids scattered throughout.

Keri Beth Spivey of Camden was her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Mary Ashley Gordon of Princeton, Meredith Carter Batts and Kristin Cartwright Brown of Greenville, Jennifer Sutton Suggs of Farmville and Whitney Lauren Ward of Burlington, friends or college roommates of the bride.

Richard D. Stevens was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Richard Kevin Stevens of Goldsboro, brother of the groom; Brandon Edward Hart of Raleigh and Travis Roy Lipcsak of Goldsboro, friends of the groom; and Lucas Winstead Murray of Bailey, college roommate of the groom.

Hannah Elizabeth Dunn of Camden, cousin of the bride, was the miniature bride. Davis Kendrick Bradley of Moyock, cousin of the bride, was the miniature groom.

Benjamin Kevin Stevens of Goldsboro, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.

A program of wedding music was provided by Kristen Williams, Dolan Williams and James Sauls; Gene Dawson, trumpeter; and Jeff Martin, sound technician.

Brian Taylor of Goldsboro directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jennifer W. Stevens, sister- in-law of the groom. Program attendants were Krystle Goodman of Cape May, N.J., and Caroline Chewning of Raleigh.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Kathy W. Leary and Shelia P. Gordon of Camden greeted guests. Patricia A. Davis, aunt of the bride, and Stephanie D. Bradley and Lorrie D. Dunn, cousins of the bride, poured punch. Terry Davis, aunt of the groom, and Julie Spivey, aunt of the bride, served the wedding cake. Cathy Bizzell and Jane Bizzell, aunts of the groom, said good-byes. Lynette Hales was the director.

After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple reside in Princeton.

Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ luncheon April 5 at the Moratoc Holiday Inn of Williamston hosted by Patricia Davis, Stephanie Bradley, Lorrie Dunn and Keri Spivey; a get-away evening April 5 in Greenville; a miscellaneous shower March 29 at the home of Sheila Gorden hosted by Paula Harrison, Ms. Gordon, Kathy W. Leary, Jan S. Cartwright, Suzette C. Ward and Sherry H. Saunders; a pantry shower March 17 at the Cooperative Extension Office hosted by co-workers; a miscellaneous shower March 2 at Pikeville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church hosted by Judy Stevens, Renee’ Taylor, Margaret Hollowell, Patt Farr, Terry Davis, Margaret Anderson, Frances McFatter and Michelle Casey; a lingerie shower Feb. 23 at the home of the bride hosted by Whitney Ward, Kristin Brown and Keri Spivey; a bachelor weekend Feb. 22 in Atlantic Beach hosted by the groomsmen; an engagement party Sept. 15 at the home of the bride hosted by the groom’s parents; and an ice cream social July 21 at the home of the bride’s parents.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner April 18 at Pikeville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church fellowship hall.
