MOUNT OLIVE — Angela Michell Davenport and Sgt. Rodrigo Saldivar of Camp Pendleton, Calif., exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony March 22 at 3 p.m. at Rodgers Chapel at Mount Olive College, with the Rev. Everett Pike officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Michael Taylor and Barbara Davenport Rivenbark of Seven Springs and the granddaughter OF Ruby Taylor and the late Charlie Birk Davenport of Albertson.

She is a 1997 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2008 graduate of Mount Olive College with an associate degree in science. She attends Mount Olive College. She is employed as an office clerk at Second Fling Inc.

The groom is the son of Hilario O. Saldivar of Mount Olive and Graciela Pedroza of Pacoima, Calif., and the grandson of Santos and Lucia Saldivar of Mount Olive and Antonio and Elidia Pedroza of Pacoima.

He is a 1998 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. He is serving in the Marines with the 1st Battalion, 4th Marines.

The bride was escorted by her brother, Gary Davenport, and given in marriage by her family.

She wore a white strapless beaded metallic embroidered bodice with a pleated organza ballgown skirt and a chapel train.

Her headpiece was a tiara with rhinestones and pearl beads attached to a veil trimmed with beads.

The bride carried a bouquet of red roses.

Renee Rosso was her friend’s matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Cathy Ham, Ashley Wilson and Denise Rodriguez, friends of the bride; Wendy Thornton, cousin of the bride; Sandy Rivenbark, stepsister of the bride; and Jeannine “Cookie” Davenport, sister-in-law of the bride.

Cpl. Cesar Saldivar was his brother’s best man.

Groomsmen were Cpl. Brennan Adams, Cpl. Patrick Reid, Staff Sgt. Kyle Venable, Sgt. Andy Edgemon, Sgt. Sean Manning and Sgt. Steven Davis, friends of the groom; and Riley Martinez, son of the bride.

Ushers were Staff Sgt. Lance Miller and Staff Sgt. Jim Wilson, friends of the groom.

Casey Thornton, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.

Hope Thornton, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Zander Martinez, son of the bride, was ringbearer.

Wendy Thornton, cousin of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Esdras Villalobos, cousin of the groom. Lance Cpl. Will Kuhn, friend of the groom, distributed programs.

Swordsmen were Staff Sgt. Braxton Green, Staff Sgt. Jim Wilson, Sgt. Sean Manning, Cpl. Brennan Adams and Cpl. Patrick Reid.

Special helpers were Denise Rodriguez, Delores Hardy and HM2 Ames Peters.

A program of wedding music was provided by Skeeter Wilson, friend of the bride, sound coordinator.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Murphy’s Place.

After a wedding trip to California, the couple reside in California.

Events held before the wedding included a lingerie shower and bachelorette party March 1 at Texas Steakhouse hosted by Denise Rodriguez and a bridal shower Feb. 24 at the home of Barbara Rivenbark hosted by Ms. Rivenbark and Jeannine Davenport.

A rehearsal dinner was held March 21 at the Steak Barn.
