MOUNT OLIVE — Lauren Ashley Parvin and Brentley Allen Jackson exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Dennis Atwood and the Rev. Christopher Turner officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James DeWayne Parvin of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of Ruth Martin Parker and the late Louis O. Parker of Mount Olive and Velma Edwards Parvin and the late James Burbank Parvin of Washington.

She is a graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a magna cum laude graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in human ecology with a concentration in social work and education. She was presented at the 2005 North Carolina Debutante Ball. She is employed as an intern social worker at Mount Olive Middle School.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Allen Jackson of Newton Grove and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Franklin Warren, Maggie Herring Jackson and the late Norman Allen Jackson of Newton Grove.

He graduated from South Johnston High School in Benson. He is employed as president of B and E Farms of Newton Grove.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an A-line ivory Italian satin gown with a halter-style neckline embellished with Swarovski crystal beading accented with gold embroidery. The skirt flowed into an extended royal cathedral train decorated with matching beaded embroidery.

Her headpiece was a Renaissance headband with a scroll design set in rhinestones.

The bride carried a cascading bouquet of red roses with purple accents wrapped in white satin tied with golden rings that belonged to her Grandfather Parker and great-aunt Margaret Martin.

Natalie Parvin Griffith of Mount Pleasant, S.C., was her sister’s matron of honor, while Bridget Gail Parvin of Chapel Hill, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Kelly Diana Parker of Mount Olive, cousin of the bride, and Mallory Laine Albertson of Raleigh, Magen Nichole Clarke of Faison, Jordan Kristin Gore of Wilmington and Laura Michelle Lee and Ashley Paige Townsend of Greenville, friends of the bride.

Robert Allen Jackson was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Eric Brooks Jackson of Newton Grove, brother of the groom; Ashley Lance Warren of Newton Grove and Bruce Franklin Warren Jr. of Goldsboro, uncles of the groom; John Ashley Westrook of Newton Grove, friend of the groom; Benjamin Burgess Griffith of Mount Pleasant, brother-in-law of the bride; Wesley Parker of Garner, cousin of the bride; and Benjamin Aaron Soistman of Mount Olive and Kenneth Michael West of Goldsboro, friends of the couple.

Sarah Ashton Parvin of Newport, cousin of the bride, was the miniature bride. Danny Howard II of Washington, cousin of the bride, was the miniature groom.

Charles Turner Worth of Mount Olive was ringbearer.

Ann Toler Bryan of Mount Olive, friend of the bride’s family, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing orders of worship were Michele Fallert Parker of Garner, cousin of the bride, and Susan Frances Lewis of Newton Grove, friend of the couple.

A program of wedding music was provided by Bess Edwards Sawyer of Goldsboro, organist; Brandi Mohiser Worth of Mount Olive, vocalist; Paige Vickory Barwick of Mount Olive, violinist; and Cindy Grant of Seven Springs, trumpeter.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception and dance at Walnut Creek Country Club. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Turner of Mount Olive and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Turner of Newton Grove greeted guests. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Kinder of Raleigh and Mr. and Mrs. Garrett Blackwelder of Greenville, cousins of the bride, presided at the memory card vase and register. Jennifer T. Parker of Mount Olive and Shirley S. Lee of Buies Creek served the wedding cakes. Directors were Shelby Benton of Goldsboro and Jennifer Sykes of Mount Olive. Helpers were Brooke Albertson, Stephanie Sykes, Will Bryan and Laura Smith.

After a wedding trip to Disney World, Fla., the couple reside in Mount Olive.

Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ luncheon Oct. 28 at the Country Squire of Kenansville hosted by Selena Bennett, Shelby Benton, Shirley Lee, Jennifer Parker, Ruth Parker and Belinda Parvin during which time the bride presented gifts to her attendants; a Christmas shower Oct. 27 at the home of Shelby Benton and Mallory and Brooke Albertson hosted by Ms. Benton and the Albertsons; a dinner party Oct. 21 at the home of Marion and Jennifer Sykes of Mount Olive; a barbecue and gift card shower Oct. 15 at the home of Bruce and Patsy Warren of Newton Grove; a miscellaneous shower Sept. 30 at First Baptist Church of Mount Olive; a home and garden shower Sept. 22 at Murphy’s Place hosted by Pam Turner and Brandi Worth; an engagement party and dance Aug. 25 at Southern Wayne Country Club; and a bachelorette weekend and monogram shower Aug. 10 through 12 at the home of Natalie Parvin Griffith of Mount Pleasant.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Nov. 9 at Duplin Winery of Rose Hill. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
