DUDLEY — Melissa Lynn Edwards of Mount Olive and David Scott Bray of Mount Olive exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 29 at 6 p.m. at the home of the bride’s grandmother, with the Rev. Michael Edwards, brother of the bride, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Larry and Kaye Edwards of Dudley and the granddaughter of the late Gilbert “Jack” and Thelma Edwards of Princeton and Margaret Jones and the late Dan Jones of Dudley.

She is a 1997 graduate of Faith Christian Academy and attended Wayne Community College. She is employed as a department manager at Kmart.

The groom is the son of Earl and Mary Bray of Princeton.

He attended Rosewood High School. He is employed as a DJ with Brews and Cues, a customer service associate with Kmart and a laborer at Milton Goff Masonry.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an informal gown of ivory satin with a scoop neckline and short capped sleeves. The fitted bodice enhanced the flared skirt that flowed into a sweep train.

Her headpiece was a tiara accented with crystals and porcelain ivory rosettes.

The bride carried a bouquet of pink dew drop roses with greenery, pearl sprays and lavender, ivory and pink streamers tied in love knots.

Casey Jones of Pikeville was her friend’s maid of honor.

Milton “Pete” Goff of Pikeville was his friend’s best man.

Anna Edwards and Sophie Edwards of Benson, nieces of the couple, were flower girls.

Linda Baughman and Betty Jones of Dudley, aunts of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Mackenzie Jones of Goldsboro, cousin of the bride. Bailey Jones of Goldsboro, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Beverley Edwards of Benson, sister-in-law of the bride, pianist.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at their home.

After a wedding trip to Wilmington, the couple reside in Princeton.

Events held before the wedding included a bachelorette shower hosted by Casey Jones, friend of the bride, and a bachelor shower Sept. 22 hosted by co-workers of the groom.

The bride’s family held a cookout rehearsal dinner Sept. 28.
