Lisa Anne Hill and Thomas Bryan West exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 7 at 2 p.m. at Yelverton United Methodist Church, with the Rev. William Creech and the Rev. Greg Moser officiating. The bride is the daughter of Dennis and Peggy Hill of Faro and the late Marcene Hill and the granddaughter of Irwin and Minnie Hill of Faro.

She is a 1997 graduate of Mt. Calvary Christian Academy and a 2001 graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. She is employed with the Wayne County School System as a music teacher.

The groom is the son of Rudy and Rebecca West of Fremont and the grandson of Ira Rhodes of Rosewood, the late Lucille Rhodes, Frances West of Fremont and the late Rudolph West.

He is a 1998 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2002 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate degree in electronics engineering technology. He is employed with National Welders.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a strapless satin gown with a bodice enhanced with bugle beads, pearls, iridescent sequins and crystals on floral appliqués. The floral pattern continued on the skirt and cathedral train. The bottom of the skirt and train had a scalloped lace edge enhanced with pearls, bugle beads, iridescent sequins and crystals.

Her headpiece was her mother’s handmade veil embellished with teardrop pearls and floral appliqués.

The bride carried a round bouquet of ambiance roses and pink calla lilies wrapped with pink and yellow chiffon.

Holly Lutze of Pikeville and Tabatha Hill of Faro were their sister’s maids of honor.

Bridesmaids were Shyla Tatum of Raleigh, Ginger Murphy of Stantonsburg and Christine Grant of LaGrange, friends of the bride.

Rudy West was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Bert West and Brent West of Fremont, brothers of the groom; Dennis Hill, Jr. of Faro, brother of the bride; and Chuck Medlin of Pikeville, friend of the couple.

Emily Siniavsky of Rosewood, cousin of the groom, was flower girl. Matthew Lutze of Pikeville, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.

Terri Ervin of Grifton, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Jean O’Connor of Faro, aunt of the bride, was the coordinator. Presiding at the register was Mae Ingram of Rosewood, cousin of the groom. Sarah and Daniel Holland of Rosewood, cousins of the groom, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by C. J. Albee of Rosewood, pianist; Pamela Harmon of Goldsboro, trumpeter; James Tatum of Raleigh, trombonist; and Tabatha Hill, Ginger Murphy and Dallas Montague of Wilson, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Stantonsburg Community Center. Melody Thomas, Tina Holloman and Tiffany Gurkins of Faro were servers.

After a wedding trip to Asheville, the couple reside in Faro.

Events held before the wedding included a lingerie shower June 10 hosted by Holly Lutze and Tabatha Hill; a bridal shower June 9 hosted by Rudy and Rebecca West, Frances West and the groom’s family; a wedding shower June 6 at Rosewood High School hosted by Joanne Smith and Emily Parker; a wedding shower June 5 hosted by Rosewood Middle School; a bridal shower April 22 hosted by Yelverton United Methodist Church; a Pampered Chef bridal shower March 15 hosted by Holly Lutze; and a bridal luncheon at the Colonial Inn Restaurant in Farmville hosted by Terri Ervin and Donna Cuthbertson.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner July 6 at Yelverton United Methodist Church.
