LAGRANGE — Mindy Lauren Rouse and James “Jamie” Carey Rouse of Seven Springs exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 16 at 4 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jimmy Mercer and the Rev. James Williams officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Gordon Wayne and Deborah Killette Rouse of LaGrange and the granddaughter of Evelyne Harper and the late Gordon “Monk” Earl Rouse and Wayne and Shirley Wade Killette of LaGrange.

She is a 2006 graduate of Pitt Community College’s occupational therapy assistant program. She is employed with Genesis Rehab as a certified occupational therapy assistant at The Pines.

The groom is the son of Glenwood Carey Rouse of Seven Springs and Patricia Dunn Rouse of LaGrange and the grandson of the late Herman Carey and Annie Leigh Barwick Rouse of Seven Springs and Nell Rae of Goldsboro and the late J.D. Kennedy of Beulaville.

He is a graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate degree in agriculture. He is self-employed at Carey Family Farms Inc.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white strapless satin gown with a split front overlay. Hand-beaded appliqués adorned the bodice. The A-line skirt closed into a cathedral-length train adorned with appliqués and embroidery.

Her headpiece was a two-tiered veil adorned with rhinestones.

The bride carried a bouquet of hot pink intuition roses with baby’s breath handtied with a satin ribbon.

Diana Soles was her friend’s matron of honor, while Stacey Sullivan, friend of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Melissa Rouse, sister of the groom; Jaime Wiggins, Tara Heath and Kayla Hill, cousins of the bride; Michelle Duff-cousin of the groom; and Tina Hamilton, friend of the bride.

Glen Rouse was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Jordan Rouse, brother of the bride; Garrett Hill and Joey Price, cousins of the bride; Greg Rouse, cousin of the couple; and Jason Britt and Jeremy Price, friends of the groom.

Callie Hodges, cousin of the groom, was flower girl. Wyat Hamilton, friend of the bride, was ringbearer.

Allyson Price directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Dawn Wiggins. Meredith Dail and Trent Wade distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Andrea Malpass, pianist, and Jeff Killette, Jordan Rouse and Jaime Wiggins, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall. Linda Price served the wedding cake.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple reside in Seven Springs.

Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ luncheon June 9 at the Broken Eagle hosted by Shirley Killette, Joy Hill, Lisa Killette, Bonnie Dail and Terri Pridgen; a guys’ night out June 2 in Greenville hosted by Jason Britt and Jeremy Price; a lingerie shower June 2 at the home of Diana Soles hosted by Ms. Soles and Stacey Sullivan; a miscellaneous bridal shower May 27 at Daly’s Chapel Church fellowship hall hosted by friends and family; a pantry shower May 24 hosted by Tara Heath and Jaime Wiggins; a tool/handyman shower and dinner May 12 at Daly’s Chapel Church fellowship hall hosted by Pete and Marilyn Wiggins, Larry and Iris Rouse, Charlotte Rouse, Glen Rouse and Sandy Rutledge; a gift card shower and pig picking May 6 at hosted by Adults for Christ Sunday school class at Bethel United Methodist Church; a miscellaneous bridal shower May 5 at the home of the groom’s mother hosted by the groom’s mother, Melissa Rouse, Michelle Duff, Karen Kennedy, Meresa Mercer and Nell Kennedy; a miscellaneous bridal shower April 1 at Bethel United Methodist Church fellowship hall hosted by bride’s family; an engagement party Jan. 12 at Jack’s Club House hosted by bride’s parents; and a Christmas Shower Dec. 29 at the home of the bride’s parents hosted by Allyson Price and Sharon Tyndall.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner June 15 at Daly’s Chapel Church fellowship hall.
