PIKEVILLE — Glenda Wheeler and Kenneth Parks exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 30 at 4 p.m. at Pikeville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with Dr. Don Sauls officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Glenn L. Hartman Jr. of Pikeville and Mattie T. Hartman of Pikeville and the granddaughter of the late Glenn L. Hartman Sr., Julia Hartman and the late Waitus and Thelma Teachey of Pikeville.

She is a a graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and Barton College.

The groom is the son of Elton and Joyce Parks of Goldsboro, the grandson of the late Milford and Mrs. Alma Parks , Isabelle Carroll and the late Hubert Carroll of Goldsboro and the stepgrandson of Aileen Parks of Goldsboro.

He is a graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and East Carolina University.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her family.

She wore a strapless sheath-style dress with a lace cardigan jacket.

Her headpiece was a tiara adorned with crystals.

The bride carried a bouquet of roses.

Melody Hartman was her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Dawn Edmundson, friend of the couple; Caroline Brown, cousin of the groom; and Danette Parks, sister-in-law of the groom.

Michael Parks was his brother’s best man.

Groomsmen were Chip Crumpler and Dan Millard, friends of the groom, and Gerald Brown, uncle of the groom.

Chloe’ Parks, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Bailey Parks, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.

Donna S. Mooring, friend of the couple, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Tammy Millard and Dana Scott, friends of the groom. Trey and Carlee Millard distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jeff Martin, sound technician, and Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Mooring, pianists and vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner June 29.
