Whitfield - Furcron

Mrs. Whitfield

Cynthia Bottoms Furcron and Charles Rayford Whitfield exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Dec. 17 at 6 p.m. in the Wayne County Courthouse atrium, with Pastor Michael Harrell officiating.

The bride is employed with the county of Wayne as a secretary V/assistant clerk to the board in the Wayne County manager’s office.

The groom is employed with the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s division of highways in Wayne County as a transportation supervisor III.

The bride wore a formal gown of ivory bridal satin overlaid with multiple layers of English illusion. The sweetheart neckline, elbow-length sleeves and bodice were Alencon lace accented with clusters of seed pearls and iridescent sequins. The Basque waistline led to a flowing skirt that swept to a cathedral-length train accented with Alencon lace motifs with clusters of seed pearls and iridescent sequins.

She carried a nosegay of red poinsettias and holly accented with pearl sprays and variegated satin ribbons.

Following the ceremony, friends held a reception in the courthouse atrium.
