GOLDSBORO — Shenita Simon Wilder of Goldsboro and Darin Keith Dancy exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 18 at noon at The Original Tabernacle of Prayer for All People, Inc., with Apostle Lawrence Bogier officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Larry Thomas Wilder Sr. and Brendia Exum Wilder of Dudley and the granddaughter of John Mack of Fremont and the late Rose Locus Wilder of Fremont and Irene Hinnant and the late Walter J. Exum of Selma.

She graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 1991, Mount Olive College in 2000 with a bachelors of science in business administration — management and organization development, and Wayne Community College in 2006 in the Medical Insurance Billing and Coding Certificate Program.

She attends Wayne Community College for an associate of applied science in medical office administration.

She is employed as medical records manager at North Carolina Department of Corrections — Central Prison.

The groom is the son of Ernestine Dancy Thompson and the late Thurman Ward Sr. of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Cleveland Ward of Mount Olive and Lily Ward of Mount Olive and Irene and the late George Dancy of Goldsboro.

He graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1987. He is employed as correctional officer at North Carolina Department of Corrections — Neuse Correctional Institution.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white satin sleeveless, chapel length wedding gown with pearl and aerodescent sequin embellishments along the neck line and hem.

The veil was white double nylon sheer with pearl trimming.

The bride carried a bouquet of white roses with cranberry spriggs and cranberry and ivory ribbons.

LaQueila Wilder-Shaw, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor, while Tamara Wilder, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Denise Howard, friend of the bride, and Sherida Parks and Quanette Wilder, cousins of the bride.

Thurman Ward Jr., brother of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Larry Wilder Jr. and Lance Wilder, brothers of the bride; Darrius Wilder, son of the bride; and Darryl Dunn, nephew of the groom;

Kris Wilder, son of the bride, was junior groom.

Taeija Cannon, cousin of the bride, was junior bride.

The ushers were KQ’Vontay Wilder and Clinton Exum, cousins of the bride, and DeCarlus McDuffie, nephew of the groom.

The bell toller was Simeon Wilder, nephew of the bride.

Brionna Raynor, friend of the bride, was flower girl. Andre Wilder, son of the bride, was ringbearer.

Betty Peacock, aunt of the groom, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Velma Hinnant, aunt of the bride, and Shirley Howard, friend of the bride.

Hostesses were Hilda Wilder-Parks, Mona Exum and Arnette Cogdell. Vicky Waters distributed programs.

The wedding music was provided by vocalists Beverly Smith and Demarcus Council, friends of the bride, and Jerry Dortch, organist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at St. Mark’s Church of God in Goldsboro.

After a wedding trip to Virginia Beach and Williamsburg, Va., the couple reside in Goldsboro.

Prior to the ceremony, a rehearsal dinner was given by the parents of the bride at the home of the bride.

Other events held before the wedding included a bridal party held March 4 at the home of the bride, a surprise bridal shower held Oct. 14 at Ryan’s given by Brendia Wilder, Tamara Wilder, LaQueila Wilder-Shaw, Hilda Parks, Sherida Parks, Denise Howard and Quanette Wilder, a bachelor party held at Sandpipers in Fayetteville by Thurman Ward, Jr., and a bridal party given by co-workers of the bride at Central Prison.
