KENLY — Kelly Ann Hinson of Raleigh and Brian Gregory Birdsall of Selma exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 30 at 5 p.m. at Kenly United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jim Reed officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Major Gordon Hinson Jr. of Goldsboro and Rebecca Hill Maples of Goldsboro, the stepdaughter of Robert Maples and Vickie Hinson, and the granddaughter of Annie Hazel Hinson and the late Major Gordon Hinson Sr. of Mount Olive and Curtis E. and Nancy Fields Hill of Goldsboro.

She graduated from Southern Wayne in 1994 and attended Wake Technical Community College. She is employed as a member services representative at State Employees Credit Union.

The groom is the son of Rod and Kay Birdsall of Homer, N.Y., and the grandson of Lula and the late Howard Birdsall of Richford, N.Y., the late John and Doris Allis Breeds of McGraw, N.Y., and the late Minor Allis.

He is a 1991 graduate of Homer Central High School, a 1995 graduate of Perdue with a bachelor of science in civil engineering, and a 1999 graduate of North Carolina State University with a master of science in civil engineering.

He is employed as manager of asphalt operations and materials engineering at Carolina Sunrock LLC.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her family.

She wore a Casablanca dress made of a blush shantung fabric and covered with a delicate ivory beaded lace. The dress had a pleated waist band separating the bodice and the skirt that continued to a V point in back. The train was chapel length.

Rebekah Nassef, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor, while Crystal Gaddis, friend of the bride, was maid of honor.

Dennis Birdsall, brother of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsman was Chad Butts, friend of the groom.

Ushers were David Hinson, brother of the bride, and John Mark Hill, cousin of the bride.

Caroline Cutler was flower girl. Martha Shellman directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Jennifer Cordell.

Chelsea Hill, cousin of the bride, was acolyte, and Robbie Phillips was vocalist.

Music was provided by the N.C. Strings.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Clayton Center in Clayton.

A reception was also held on Oct. 21 at the home of Kay and Rod Birdsall in Homer, N.Y.

After a wedding trip to Glacier National Park, Montana, the couple reside in Selma.

A rehearsal dinner at Sweetwaters in Selma was given by the parents of the groom.

Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower hosted by Rebekah Nassef and Sue Davis, a miscellaneous shower hosted by Nancy Hill and Virginia Fields, and a miscellaneous shower hosted by the parents of the groom.
