Dawson - Dudding
WILMINGTON — Lisa Jane Dudding of Wilmington and Rodney V. Dawson Jr. of Wilmington exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. at Halyburton Park, with Pastor L. Jay Young officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Edward T. Dudding of Alexandria, Va., and Lucretia K. Schewe of Wilmington, the stepdaughter of William C. Schewe, and the granddaughter of the late William C. and Jenevee A. Dudding of Alexandria, Va., and Franklin and Lucille Ketchie of Athens, Ga.
She is a 1999 graduate of Emsley A. Laney High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. In 2005, she graduated from Cape Fear Community College with an Associate Degree in Nursing. In 2005, she was licensed as a registered nurse. She is employed as a registered nurse on the neuroscience unit at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
The groom is the son of Rodney and Marcie Dawson of Seven Springs and the grandson of James and Rachel Dawson of Jasper and Grace Gurley of Rosewood and the late Morris Gurley of Rosewood.
He is a 1998 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2003 graduate of Mount Olive College with a bachelor of science degree in psychology. He is employed as a police officer at the Wilmington Police Dept.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents and family.
She wore a strapless ivory Jaquelin satin gown with champagne accent borders and a sweep train. Pearl and crystal embroidery embellished the gown borders and handmade veil.
Amy E. Pusey was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kerri E. Howell and Stacie S. Dawson.
Rodney V. Dawson served as best man.
Groomsmen and ushers were Christopher E. Dudding and David A. Dudding.
Cecelia E. Zidar was flower girl. Allison Howell directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Lauren Sexton.
Music was provided by harpist Sarah Ketchie.
After a wedding trip to Banner Elk on Sugar Mountain, the couple reside in Wilmington.
Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held at Wilson’s.
Other events held before the ceremony included a wedding shower given by Jamie Gurley, a bachelorette party given by Amy Pusey, a bridal shower given by Kathy Dudding, and a bachelor party given by Chris and David Dudding.
