Megan Ames Chenier and Albert Lee Hutchens III exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 5 at 4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Drew Clark and the Rev. Jay Martin officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mark Stephen and Barbara Chenier. She is the granddaughter of Bette and Gene H. Binning of Oklahoma City, Okla., Patricia and Edwin Ely of Ludlow, Mass., and the late Eugene Chenier.

The bride is a Goldsboro native and a graduate of Eastern Wayne High School.

She graduated in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sport science from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

The groom is the son of Albert Lee Hutchens Jr. and Linda Hutchens of Edenton, and is the grandson of Loree V. Johnson and the late Marvin Johnson of Dobson and the late Albert Lee Hutchens and Laura Hutchens of Hickory.

He is a graduate of Osborn High School in Manassas, Va., and a 1998 graduate of East Carolina University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

He is employed by Williamsburg Aquatic Club as the head age group swim coach.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.

Kara Meyer served the bride as maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Cameron Hughes of Goldsboro, Meghan Nystrand of Knoxville, Tenn., Mary Margaret Gamblin of Raleigh, Susan Morgan of Goldsboro and Emily Carroll of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa.

Michael Donovan of Wake Forest served the groom as best man.

Ushers were Michael Chenier and Mason Chenier, brothers of the bride.

Groomsmen were Matt Jabs of Greenville, Greg Middleton of Raleigh, Randy Jarman of Kinston, John Warhol III of Yorktown, Va., and McGee Moody of Williamsburg, Va.

Rebekkah Warhol, niece of the groom, of Yorktown, Va., served as flower girl.

The wedding director was Brownie Doss.

Programs were distributed by Kelly Binning and Mary Ilene Binning, both of Oklahoma City, Okla., and cousins of the bride; and Mary Elizabeth Warhol of Yorktown, Va., niece of the groom.

Music was provided by Dr. Jeremy Thompson, with vocals by Kristin Shearin and violin by Jenny Heim.

Ann Price, friend of the bride’s mother, was a special helper at the reception, which was held at Lane Tree Country Club.

Dr. Robert and Mrs. Linda Meyer served as greeters at the reception.

After the wedding, the couple will take a cruise in the Mediterranean.

They will reside in Williamsburg.

The rehearsal dinner was held Friday at the Officer’s Club at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

Other pre-wedding events included a kitchen shower hosted on June 3 by Linda and Kara Meyer; an engagement dinner party June 17 hosted by friends of the bride at the home of Larry and Pat Keim; a “honey-do” shower held July 15 in Raleigh and hosted by Cindy and Frank McLain and Kathryn and Dee Robinson, friends of the groom; a bridesmaids’ luncheon hosted by Rosalyn Lomax, Kathryn Spicer and Nancy Harvin held Friday at Goldsboro Country Club; and a bridesmaids’ breakfast hosted by Bonnie and Cameron Hughes held Saturday.
