MOUNT OLIVE — Heather Tracy Alphin of Mount Olive and Scott Thomas Ingram of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 5 at 5 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark Stephens officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Lewis Jackson and Hilda Tutor Alphin of Mount Olive, and the granddaughter of Dorothy Grady and the late Lewis Garland Alphin of Mount Olive.

She is employed as a procedure nurse at Carolina Kidney in Goldsboro.

The groom is the son of Danny Thomas and Jenny Tillman Ingram of Goldsboro and the grandson of Deloris Jones, the late Thurman Thomas Ingram of Goldsboro and Myrtle Davis and the late Travis Tillman of Pikeville.

He is employed by Firestone in Wilson.

The bride was escorted by her father and her daughter, Reagan Malone Alphin, and was given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white satin dress with a halter-top bodice accented with pearls and beads. The small train and v-cut-back were also adorned with pearls and beads. She wore a short veil with crystal beads and pearls around the edge and a comb of pearls and crystal beads.

She carried a bouquet of white, open roses and red baby roses that was adorned with white satin and pearls.

Meredith Alphin McClenny served her sister as matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Beth Ingram Toler, sister-in-law of the bride, of Goldsboro; Dana Carter Langston of Grantham, friend of the bride; and Sara Elizabeth Ivey of Mount Olive, Stephanie Leigh Ivey of Wilmington and Amanda Gray Clifton of Clinton, cousins of the bride.

Danny Thomas Ingram served his son as best man.

Groomsmen were Eric Gene Toler of Goldsboro, brother-in-law of the groom; Lewis Jackson Alphin of Mount Olive, brother of the bride; Travis Gerald Tillman of Pikeville, uncle of the groom; Joseph William Toler, friend of the couple; and Charles Murray McClenny of Mount Olive, brother-in-law of the bride.

Honorary bridesmaids were Nikki Hooks of Pikeville, cousin of the groom; and Natasha Boudy of Goldsboro, Jenny Barfield of Mount Olive, Brandi Brock of Mount Olive and Sharon Raper of Goldsboro, all friends of the bride.

The bride’s daughter also served as the flower girl.

Travis Kaxson Hooks, cousin of the groom, served as ringbearer.

Cindy Kornegay Ivey of Mount Olive, friend of the couple, directed the wedding.

Presiding at the register was Rachel Tillman Gwatney of Goldsboro, aunt of the groom.

Andrew and Anissa Powell of Tennessee, cousins of the bride, distributed programs.

Special helper for the ceremony was Alice Crisp Hill of Goldsboro, friend of the bride.

Reception greeters were Douglas and Janice Powell of Lillington, aunt and uncle of the groom. Goodbyes were handled by Glen and Linda Clifton of Clinton, aunt and uncle of the bride.

Reception directors were Dwight and Belinda Dixon of South Carolina, aunt and uncle of the bride.

A program of wedding music was provided by Weslea Gray, pianist, and Richard Phillips, vocalist.

A reception was held after the ceremony at The Country Squire in Kenansville hosted by the bride’s parents.

After a surprise wedding trip for the bride, the couple will live in Grantham.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at Bethel United Methodist Church in Mount Olive.

Other wedding events included a spa day July 29, hosted by Hilda Alphin and Meredith McClenny; a lawn and garden shower and barbecue July 29, hosted by Eric and Nikki Hooks, Rachel Gwatney, Danny and Jenny Ingram, Eric and Beth Toler and Gerald Tillman and Myrtle Tillman; a July 23 luncheon at The Country Squire hosted by Rouse and Cindy Ivey, John Daniel and Rebekah and Abbie Ivey; a bridal shower July 21, hosted by the bride’s co-workers at Carolina Kidney; a July 15 lingerie shower at the home of Sara Elizabeth Ivey and also hosted by Meredith McClenny, Brandi Brock and Jenny Barfield; a miscellaneous shower hosted by Bethel United Methodist Church July 9; a recipe shower hosted by Dana Langston July 8; and July 1 girls’ night out hosted by friends of the bride; and a June 10 bridal luncheon at Nino’s in Mount Olive, hosted by Dorothy Alphin, Janice Powell and Sharon Collins, grandmother and aunts of the bride.
