Jessica Dawn Perkins and Caleb Robert Griffith of Cary exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 5 at 2 p.m. at Pine Forest United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Billy Olsen officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Bert and Sheri Perkins of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Lucille Collings, Col. Kenneth Collings, Inez Perkins and the late Calbert Perkins of Goldsboro.

She is a 2002 graduate of Rosewood High School and a 2006 cum laude graduate of East Carolina University, with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She is employed as a third-grade teacher at Cedar Fork Elementary School of Morrisville.

The groom is the son of Eric and Debbie Griffith of Goldsboro and the grandson of James and Bessie Zwicki of Hiawatha, Iowa, and Barbara Griffith and the late Robert Griffith of Yarmouth, Iowa.

He graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 2001, Lenoir Community College in 2003, with an associate degree in liberal arts and North Carolina State University, with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a concentration in financial analysis. He is employed as an accountant and associate financial planner with Townsend Asset Management of Raleigh.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white satin gown enhanced with a sweetheart neckline accented with clusters of pearls and sequins. The asymmetrical waistline led to a flowing skirt with a beaded edge that swept to a chapel train.

Her pearl tiara was attached to a white fingertip-length veil.

The bride carried a bouquet of white lilies, pink Gerber daisies and white roses with a handkerchief that belonged to her grandmother.

Melissa Capps served her sister as matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Robyne Caughron, Alison Monroe and Brittan Wheeler, friends of the bride; Tiffany Franklin and Kelsey Griffith, sisters of the groom; Jennifer Perkins, sister-in-law of the bride; and Emily Waddell, cousin of the bride.

Todd Weeks served as his friend’s best man.

Groomsmen were Nicholas Capps, brother-in-law of the bride; Joseph Franklin, brother-in-law of the groom; Dave Henry, friend of the groom; and Lee Perkins, brother of the bride.

Bailey Teague, friend of the couple, was flower girl. Brady Perkins, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.

Vickie Capps, friend of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Blair Keen, cousin of the bride.

Adam Keen, cousin of the bride, and Amanda Kellar, friend of the bride, distributed programs.

Josiah Capps, nephew of the bride, and Gabriel Franklin, nephew of the groom, were baby attendants.

A program of wedding music was provided by Timmy Price, friend of the couple, pianist; Robyne Caughron, friend of the bride, and Joseph Franklin, brother-in-law of the groom, vocalists; and Justin Mitchell, friend of the couple, guitarist.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Walnut Creek Country Club. George and Lisa Pettus, friends of the couple, greeted guests.

After a wedding trip to Charleston and Kiawah Island, S.C., the couple will reside in Cary.

Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ luncheon Friday at Billie’s Backstreet Restaurant hosted by Beverly Keen; a bachelorette weekend July 21-23 in Sneads Ferry hosted by Robyne Caughron; a lingerie shower July 16 hosted by Melissa Capps, Tiffany Franklin and Debbie and Kelsey Griffith; a shower July 8 at Pine Forest United Methodist Church hosted by family and friends; and an alphabet shower June 3 in Greenville hosted by Robyne Caughron, Julie Evans, Jenna Haire, Alison Monroe and Stephanie Styers.

The groom’s family held a dinner in the church fellowship hall.
