Denise Ann Garcia of Goldsboro and Stephen Christopher Barnett of Raleigh exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony at 2:30 p.m. July 22 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Father Tom Norris and the Rev. Mike Windley officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. Gilbert Joseph Garcia Jr. and Susana Mendoza Garcia of Goldsboro.

She is employed as a legal assistant for a real estate attorney at Barkley Law Offices, P.C.

The groom is the son of James Lewis and Regina Coleman Barnett of Waynesville.

He is employed as a sixth-grade math teacher and football coach with Wake County Public Schools.

The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father.

Her dress was an ivory silk Shantung with a softly draping portrait neckline. The princess lines fell into shirred scallops overlaying an underskirt of ivory silk. The shirred scalloping continued around a long train.

The bride carried a clutch-style bouquet of Virginia roses, pink attache roses and yellow gold strike roses accented with garden greenery.

Mariana and Elisa Garcia served the bride as maids of honor.

Bridesmaids were Anjie McCumbee, Grayson Moser, Bobbie Newton, Jamie Pike and Lisa Rockwell.

Emily Hinton and Kimberly Christian were bridesmaids.

Dewayne Anthony Barnett, grandfather of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Jose Julio Guijarro Jr., Tim Lantz, Frank Sellers and Chris Steele.

Carole Sears directed the wedding.

Margaret Guijarro and Lauren Cassidy distributed programs.

Readers were Sarah Cassidy, Marisa Guijarro and Christine Guijarro.

Violinist Krista Cala provided music for the ceremony.

After a wedding trip to San Francisco, Calif., the couple live in Raleigh.

A rehearsal dinner was held at St. Mary’s Auditorium.
