Bean-Larsen
Rebecca Anne Larsen of Nashville, Tenn., and Dr. Cory Duane Bean of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony at 3 p.m. July 8 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Goldsboro, with the Rev. Gene Carpenter officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Ruth DeLeeuw Larson of Oxford, Miss., and William Donald Larson of Theodore, Ala., and the granddaughter of Mary DeLeeuw of West Milford, N.J.
She received her undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University in Nashville and served for two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Malawi, Africa.
She received her master’s degree from Florida International University in Miami, Fla., and is employed as a mathematics teacher. She will begin teaching at Eastern Wayne Middle School this fall.
The groom is the son of Constance Ann St. Aubin of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Wiley Chester Bean of Mobile, Ala.
He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham.
He completed his residency in pediatrics in Greenville, N.C.
He is a pediatrician at Goldsboro Pediatrics.
The bride was escorted by her father.
Her gown and veil were designed and sewn by her mother.
Constance Flood served the bride as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Alicia Roberts and Erika Pollock.
Bailey Webb and Sarah Bean served as flower girls.
Ralph Harbison served the groom as best man.
Groomsmen were Dr. Shatlon Rettig and Dr. Siegfried Yeh.
Eric Larson served as usher.
Dr. David Tayloe Jr. served as crucifer.
Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Paul Cunningham. Other music included a clarinet solo by the groom’s sister, Kathryn Webb and a violin solo by the maid of honor.
Scripture readings were given by Lisa Vallely and Carla O’Donoghue.
A special prayer was written and delivered by Dr. Barron Patterson.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks and hors d’oeuvres at Walnut Creek Country Club.
Other wedding events included a rehearsal dinner of barbecue in the Parish Hall of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church; and a bridal shower given by the bridesmaids in Nashville.
For their wedding trip, the couple took an Alaskan cruise.
They live in Goldsboro.
