VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Melissa Marie Kinney and Harry Michael Adkins exchanged vows July 15 at 6 p.m. at Lynnhaven Presbyterian Church, with Dr. J. Scottie Griffin and Barry Jenkins officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven J. Kinney of Virginia Beach and the granddaughter of Judson S. Kinney Jr. of Norfolk, Va., the late Margie Kinney, Pat Emundson of Pikeville and the late William Edmundson.

She is a graduate of Princess Anne High School and Old Dominion University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in elementary education. She is employed as a teacher with Norfolk Public Schools.

The groom is the son of Karen Adkins of Virginia Beach and Scott Adkins of Hampton, Va., and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Tennien of Virginia Beach.

He graduated from Princess Anne High School and Old Dominion University, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

He is employed as a sales representative with Merck Pharmaceuticals.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

Alison McCrowell of Newport News, Va., served as her friend’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Laura Kinney of Virginia Beach, sister of the bride, and Dawn Buckley and Tracy Roeck of Virginia Beach, friends of the bride.

Tom Jongquist served as his friend’s best man.

Groomsmen were Kory Raker, Matt Kleber and Maison Roeck of Virginia Beach, friends of the groom.

Kaleah Kinney, niece of the bride, and Olivia Rock were flower girls.

Mary Williams, family friend, was mistress of ceremonies.

After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple reside in Virginia Beach.
