BENTONVILLE — Andrea Michelle Houston became the bride of Matthew Howard Sanderson March 18 at 4 p.m.

Richard Parson officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Saint John Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The bride is the daughter of Daniel and Betsy Houston of Grantham. She is the granddaughter of the Emmanuel David and Leona Davis of Nine Mile and Sudie Houston and the late Robert Houston of Richlands.

The groom is the son of Kenneth and Vickey Sanderson of Grantham. He is the grandson of Howard and Mildred Howell, the late Doris Sanderson and Joe Sanderson of Grantham.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless white satin ballgown. The bodice, A-line skirt and chapel-length train were accented with crystal beading handsewn with metallic embroidery.

For her headpiece, she chose a two-tiered bead-trimmed fingertip veil accented with a silver and crystal beaded hairclip. She carried a clutch bouquet of yellow sunflowers and white daisies wrapped in white organza ribbon.

Regina Griggs of Angier, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kari Sanderson and Nicki Sanderson of Grantham, sisters of the groom; Kendra Houston and Molly Houston of Richlands, cousins of the bride; and Dana Barfield of Newton Grove and Callie Birdsell of Ashe County, friends of the couple.

Kenenth Sanderson was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Adam Cox, Matt Keen, Adam Smith and Jason Bingham of Grantham, friends of the couple; Bryan King of Grantham, cousin of the groom; and Joshua Sanderson of Grantham, brother of the groom.

Kasey Vann, Meredith Johnson and Halley Edwards of Grantham, cousins of the groom, were flower girls.

Wanda Jones of Richlands, friend of the bride’s family, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Chole Edwards of Grantham, cousin of the groom. Katlyn Denning of Grantham, cousin of the groom, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Phil Britt, sound technician.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach and Charleston, S.C., the couple is residing in Grantham/Bentonville.

The bride is a graduate of Richlands High School and Mount Olive College with a bachelor of science degree in business management in agribusiness. She is employed as a district technician with the Wayne County Soil and Water Conservation Office.

The groom graduated from Southern Wayne High School. He is employed as co-operator with Sanderson Farms.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a barbecue dinner reception in the church fellowship hall.

On March 18, a bridal luncheon and spa day was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

Wanda Jones, Patricia Pike and Kathy Jones, friends of the bride, held a bridal shower March 5 at Whaley’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church of Richlands.

On Feb. 24, Regina Griggs, sister of the bride, and Summer Edwards, cousin of the groom, held a lingerie shower at the Edwards home.

A girls’ night out on the town was held Feb. 24.

On Feb. 19, members of St. John’s Church and the groom’s family held a bridal shower in the church fellowship hall.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at St. John’s Church.
