FREMONT — Barbara Gail Evans and Joshua David Price were united in holy matrimony March 18 at 6 p.m.

Martin Armstrong officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Fremont United Methodist Church.

Parents of the bride are Steven T. and Tammy G. Evans of Fremont. She is the granddaughter of Billy Ray and Mary Vance Grady of Dudley and the late Barbara W. Evans and Junius A. and Christine S. Evans of Fremont.

Parents of the groom are Danny E. and Sharon P. Price of Fremont. He is the grandson of Beverly B. Pelt and the late W. Freeman Pelt of Fremont and David and Joan C. Price of Goldsboro.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white formal gown of tulle embellished with Alencon lace, pearls and sequins with a halter neckline accented with a sleeveless bodice. The A-line skirt cascaded into a cathedral train.

For her headpiece, she chose a crown of rhinestones that extended into a single-tier of silk illusion with bugle beads.

Ashley Nelms, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Laura Evans and Allison Evan, sisters of the bride, and Melissa P. Smith, sister-in-law of the bride.

Danny Price was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Brandon Pelt, cousin of the groom; Darian Smith and Stevie Evans, brothers-in-law of the groom; and Vann Lancaster and Alex Raper, friends of the groom.

Abbi Shackleford was flower girl. Jay Shackleford was ring bearer.

Lynda Stewart directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Rachel Evans, cousin of the bride. Christie and Casey Milleson, cousins of the bride, distributed programs.

Special helpers were Courtney Evans, Candy Whitley, Laura Newsome, Keith Stewart, Betsy Smith, Ebbie Mooring, Patsy Sauls, Pam Pierce, Bill Yelverton and Bill Jones.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jimmy Aycock, pianist; Jean Milleson-Jones, vocalist; Megan Howard, violinist; Danny Sellars, bassist; and Chester David, guitarist and keyboardist.

After a wedding trip to Emerald Isle, the couple is residing in Fremont.

The bride is a 2001 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2005 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse with Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

The groom graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2002 and Wayne Community College in 2004 with an associate in applied science machining technology degree. He attends East Carolina University for a bachelor of science degree in industrial technology and a minor in business. He is employed as an assistant production manager with Tide Tamer Ind.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall.

On March 18, Lynda Stewart and Candy Whitley held a brunch at the Stewart home.

Joan Price, grandmother of the groom, held a bridesmaids’ luncheon March 11 a t the home of David and Joan Price.

Friends of the bride’s family held a prewedding celebration March 10 at Parkers of Wilson.

On March 5, the bride’s family held a floating bridal shower at Fremont Church.

The groom’s aunts held a floating bridal shower Feb. 19 at Eureka United Methodist Church.

On Feb. 18, the groom’s aunts and uncles held a prewedding celebration at the home of Chris and Karen Price.

The groom’s family held an engagement party in November at the home of Darian and Melissa Smith.

The groom’s family held an after-rehearsal dinner in the church fellowship hall.
