Ashley Nicole King and Craig Allen Overman of Goldsboro pledged their marriage vows July 9 at 1 p.m.

The Rev. T.E. Grainger officiated at the double-ring outdoor ceremony at Wedding Chapel By The Sea.

The bride is the daughter of Roger Earl and Melody Scott King of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Cecil G. Sr. and Judy scott and William “Billy” H. Jr. and Audrey King of Goldsboro.

Parents of the groom are David Ray Overman and Betty Skeens Overman of Fremont. He is the grandson of retired Master Sgt. Linwood and Ruby Skeens of Deep Run, Dorothy Kennedy Skeens of Goldsboro and the late Margaret Mozingo Overman and David C. Overman of Fremont and the great-grandson of the late Rev. Willie and Gertie Skeens of Deep Run.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of ivory satin. The fitted strapless bodice was adorned with scalloped embroidered floral motifs embellished with crystals, iridescent and pearl accents. The A-line skirt had matching embroidery that encircled the hemline and cascaded throughout the semi-cathedral train. She carried a bouquet of ivory roses.

Brittan King, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Brandy Borgersrode, Tara Fenton and Ashley Wiggins of Goldsboro.

David Ray Overman was his son’s best man. Goomsmen were Davie Overman, Brent Overman and Ryan Overman, brothers of the groom.

McKenzie Shea Scott, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Caleb Cole Jernigan, son of the bride, was ring bearer.

Mary Ann Weaver of Virginia, cousin of the bride, directed the wedding.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple is residing in Goldsboro.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School.

The groom graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 1999. He attended East Carolina University.

Following the ceremony, the couple’s parents held a luncheon at Pier 14 Restaurant of Myrtle Beach.

On July 24, a surprise pig picking was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Howard of Lucama with Gary and Brenda McArthur assisting.
