Tara Leigh Rogers and Michael Justin McLamb were joined in holy matrimony Aug. 13 at 4 p.m.

Minister John Alexander officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Princeton Church of God, assisted by Pastor Scott Sauls .

The bride is the daughter of Will H. and Sherry Ham Rogers of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Evelyn Cruse Ham and the late Leslie Ray Ham of Goldsboro and the late Tommie Hubert and Lida Mae Hales Rogers of Princeton.

Betty Peedin Massengill of Angier and Danny Merman McLamb of Smithfield are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of the late Herbert “Hub” and Lenora Corbett Peedin and Mary Ellen Tyner McLamb and the late James Anton McLamb of Smithfield.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white strapless sheath gown with a bodice embellished with iridescent beads and pearls. The trumpet skirt ended in a chapel-length train accented with a scalloped beaded lace edge.

For her headpiece, she chose a sheer cathedral-length veil accented with pearls attached to a hair comb with Austrian Swarovski crystals and mother of pearl. She carried a European clutch bouquet of kiko roses, white hydrangeas, pink ranuculus, white freesia, pink spray roses, pink stock and green hypericum berries framed with a salal leaf collar with a handkerchief that belonged to the her late grandmother.

Melissa Brady of Pine Level, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Amber Zeller of Clayton, Amanda Johnson of Durham, Lindsay Rutledge of Raleigh and Nora Powell of Asheville, friends of the bride.

Danny McLamb was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Jared McLamb of Smithfield, brother of the groom; Brooks Rogers of Goldsboro, brother of the bride; and Josh Edwards and Kevin Moore of Princeton, friends of the groom.

Hope Ham directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Alicia Taylor and Michelle Stallings. Corey and Meredith McLamb distributed programs.

Special helpers were Amy Zeverick, Linda Strickland and Denise Bittner.

A program of wedding music was provided by Angie Proctor, pianist; Jimmy and Lisa Lambert, Jared Grantham and Brooks Rogers, vocalists; and Jared Grantham and Brooks Rogers, acoustic guitarists.

After a wedding trip to St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2003 magna cum laude graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital’s intensive care unit.

The groom graduated from Princeton High School in 2001 and Johnston Community college with an associate of arts degree in business. He attended North Carolina State University. He is employed as a selling supervisor at the Brooks Brothers Factory Store.

Following the ceremony a dinner and dance reception was held at Lane Tree Country Club. Jimmy and Margaret Gurley and Ira and Cindy Thigpen, friends of the couple, greeted guests. Jean Woodall, aunt of the groom, and Patty Woodall, cousin of the groom, poured punch. Candace Singleton and LaRue Tart, aunts of the bride, served the wedding cake.

On Aug. 12, the groom’s parents held a barbecue cooking at Princeton Church of God.

The bride’s family held a lawn and garden shower and picnic Aug. 5 at the home of the couple.

On July 31, Princeton Church of God held an ice cream party at the home of Jimmy and Margaret Gurley.

The intensive care unit nurses and staff at Wayne Memorial Hospital held a miscellaneous shower July 25 at Texas Steakhouse.

July 22 through 24, Amber Zeller held a bachelorette weekend was held in Carolina Beach.

Melissa Brady held a lingerie shower at the bachelorette weekend.

On July 10, the groom’s family held a miscellaneous shower at Tee’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

The bride’s family held a miscellaneous shower June 19 at United in Christ church.
