Marci Renee Rollins of Greenville and Edward Kelley Smart were wed July 23 at 2 p.m.

The Rev. Greg Day and the Rev. Tyanna Yonkers Day officiated at the double-ring ceremony at First Free Will Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. Norman Ard and the Rev. Alan Joyner.

Parents of the bride are Deborah Stocks Rollins of Pikeville and Nelson Ray Rollins of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Pauline Sykes Stocks of Pikeville, the late George William Stocks, the late Hilda Mae Price Rollins and the late Rev. Robert Nelson Rollins.

The groom is the son of Larry Glenn and Mary Lee Paramore Smart of Winterville. He is the grandson of S.A. and Carrie Dail Edwards Paramore and William Glenn and Elizabeth Forest Smart of Winterville.

Given in marriage and escorted by her parents, the bride wore a gown of white chiffon with cape sleeves and a scalloped neckline. The fitted bodice was embellished with Venice lace, seed pearls and sequins and ended with an empire waistline. The A-line skirt was adorned with Chantilly lace from her mother’s wedding dress at the hemline and cascaded into a sweep train enhanced by Chantilly lace and seed pearls.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara with a floral embellishment of Venice lace with pearls and rhinestones attached to an elbow-length veil adorned with scattered pearls. She carried a cascading bouquet of white roses, calla lilies,star gazer lilies, lavender and baby’s breath.

Karen Howell of Benson was matron of honor. Nikki McLawhon of Mount Olive was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Alphin of Goldsboro and Brianna Williams of Greenville.

Larry Smart was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Kendall Paramore and Joseph Sutton of Greenville and Travis Sutton of Farmville, cousins of the groom.

Scripture readers were Charles Waters Jr. of Claremont, Calif., Jackie Harris of Snow Hill and Lori Rountree of Wilson.

Wayne Bailey and Lloyd Dawson of Goldsboro, Randall Beaman and the Rev. Philip Wood of Greenville, the Rev. Dale Belvin of Pikeville, Elizabeth Cunningham of Walstonburg, Jim Shaffer of Winterville and L.A. Williams of Winterville were communion servers.

Becky Paramore Moye of Greenville, great-aunt of the groom, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Nelson and Brenda Rollins of Goldsboro, brother and sister-in-law of the bride. Andruw Rollins, Austin Rollins, Brenden Carpinella and Jenna Carpinella of Goldsboro, nephews and niece of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Sharlene Howell of Goldsboro, pianist and vocalist; Donna George of Greenville, organist; Johnny Skinner of Pikeville, vocalist; Caroline Dail, saxophonist; and Laura Dail, trumpeter.

After a wedding trip to the North Carolina Mountains, the couple is residing in Farmville.

The bride is a 1998 honor graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2002 summa cum laude graduate of Mount Olive College with a bachelor of arts degree in religion and a minor in Christian education. She attends Campbell University Divinity School for a master of divinity degree . She is employed as an editorial assistant at Free Will Baptist Press of Ayden.

The groom graduated from Greenville Christian Academy in 1998, Pitt Community College in 2001 with honors with an associate of applied science degree and Mount Olive College summa cum laude in 2005 with a bachelor of science degree in religion. He was ordained to the ministry by the Central Conference of the Original Free Will Baptist Convention in February. He will attend Campbell University Divinity School for a master of divinity degree. He is employed as minister of education at Free Union Original Free Will Baptist Church.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

On July 22, the groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner in First Free Will Baptist Church fellowship hall.

Karen Howell and Dianne Rand held a bridal luncheon July 15 at the Steak Barn.

On June 25, Bonnie Rollins, Brenda Rollins and Arminta Harrell held a miscellaneous bridal shower at the home of Bonnie Rollins.

The groom’s family held a miscellaneous bridal shower June 12 in Reedy Branch Free Will Baptist Church’s parlor.

On May 22, the Lydia Circle of First Free Will Baptist Church held a miscellaneous bridal shower in the church fellowship hall.

The bridesmaids held a pantry shower May 15 at the home of Amy Alphin.

On April 1, the bridesmaids held a lingerie shower on the Pungo River.
