Laura Marie Smith and Fernando Ariel Guelfi of Milton, Fla., were united in marriage June 25 at 4 p.m.

The Rev. Dann Patrick officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Faith Free Will Baptist Church.

Parents of the bride are Blanche J. Smith of Goldsboro and the late Larry W. Smith. She is the granddaughter of Mildred Junker of Goldsboro, the late Glen Junker, Mildred Smith of Seven Springs and the late Harold Smith.

Attilio and Yolanda Guelfi of Panama City are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Luisa De Quintero of Panama City.

Given in marriage by her mother and family and escorted by her brother, Justin Smith, the bride wore a formal gown of white satin with a jewel neckline accented with a sleeveless bodice embellished with appliqués of pearls. It flowed into an A-line skirt. The back featured satin bridal buttons that cascaded down the chapel-length train.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara that extended into a two-tiered veil of silk illusion adorned with pearls fashioned with a penciled edge. She carried white roses and stephanotis on top of her mother’s wedding Bible.

Cara Smith, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Suzanna Smith, sister of the bride, was the bridesmaid.

Atilio Guelfi was his brother’s best man. Ushers were Jefrey Crumpler of LaGrange, cousin of the bride; Jeff Jones of Goldsboro, friend of the couple; and Mario Paredes of Greenville, cousin of the groom. Groomsmen were Miguel Quintero of Panama City, cousin of the groom.

Malori Price, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.

Jacqueline Vasquez, cousin of the groom, was flower girl. Carlyle Smith, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.

Paula Jones directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Monica Barajas, cousin of the groom. Jannella Paredes, cousin of the groom, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Kevin Denton, Justin Smith and Suzanna Smith, vocalists, and Russell Wade, sound technician.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple is residing in Milton.

The bride is a graduate of Faith Christian Academy. She attended Pensacola Christian College of Florida. She will attend Pensacola Junior College.

The groom graduated from Escuela Faravdo P. Gastou High School. He attended the University of Panama. He is employed by Steve Jones’ Homes.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Gail Stroud was coordinator. Linda Radford and Connie Mitchell served the wedding cake. Cindy Hinson and Connie McKinney poured punch.

On June 24, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner in the church fellowship hall.

Charity Davis, Roxie Davis, Melissa Haas, Connie Mitchell, Janice Rouse and Christie Woodard held a lingerie shower June 4.

On June 2, ladies of Faith Free Will Baptist Church held a bridal shower.

Marie Smith, Lynn Crumpler, Lori Smith and Malorie Price held a kitchen shower May 21.
