MOUNT OLIVE — Jennifer Lynn Moore of Wilmington and David Ryan Sawyer of Wilmington said their marriage vows June 4 at 4 p.m.

The Rev. Shannon Moore and the Rev. Martin Bryant Jr. officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Friendly Holiness Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

Parents of the bride are L. Carlton and Rosemary Moore of Mount Olive. She is the granddaughter of Albert and Audie Edwards of Mount Olive and the late Leslie and Pauline Moore of Princeton.

Parents of the groom are P.Y. and Joann Sawyer of Durham. He is the grandson of the late Richard Ames and Norma Ames of Florida and the late Mr. and Mrs. P.Y. Sawyer.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal strapless gown of white satin with a bodice of pearls and iridescent beading. The hand-embroidered beads and pearls encircled the neckline, waist and hemline. The A-line skirt cascaded into a semi-cathedral-length train.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of enamel flowers, fresh water pearls and rhinestones. She carried a clutch bouquet of vogue and blue curiosa roses, purple statice and pink lisianthus with the stems wrapped in French double-faced satin ribbon accented with pearls and a salad leaf collar.

Elizabeth Moore of Mount Olive, sister of the bride, and Kristi Lee of Wilmington, friend of the bride, were maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Hartley of Mount Olive and Lauren Edwards of Cray, cousins of the bride; Amie Moore of Raleigh, sister-in-law; Jenny Cartwright of Goldsboro, sister of the groom; and Kelly Brock of Mount Olive and Dorian Graves and Rebecca Frith of Wilmington, friends.

P.Y. Sawyer was his son’s best man. Ushers were Mike Stocking of Denver, Colo., James Goodman of Wilmington, Tim Winters of Raleigh, and Dusty Simpson of Fuquay-Varina, friends; Jeramy Cartwright of Goldsboro, brother-in-law; Christopher Moore of Raleigh and Michael Moore of Mount Olive, brothers of the bride; and Jonathan Hartley of Mount Olive, cousin of the bride.

Ashton, Claire and Caroline Leggett of Wilmington, friends, were flower girls. Tanner Cartwright, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.

Avid Edmundson of Wilmington, cousin of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Ronnie and Yvonne Hartley of Mount Olive, uncle and aunt of the bride. Raven Creech of Ayden, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.

Amie Moore, sister-in-law of the bride, was a special helper. Matthew Edwards of Cary, cousin of the bride, was Scripture reader.

A program of wedding music was provided by Leigh Ann Underhill, pianist; Tasi Matthews, violinist; and Ashley Hartley, cousin of the bride, vocalist.

After a wedding trip to Hilton Head, S.C., the couple is residing in Wilmington.

The bride is a 2004 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in elementary education. She is employed as a first grade teacher with Eaton Elementary of Wilmington.

The groom graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2005 with a double major in sociology and business management. He is employed as an assistant engineer with Southport Boatworks.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Southern Wayne Country Club. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Edwards of Cary, uncle and aunt of the bride, greeted guests. Ava Robbins and Anne Creech, aunts of the bride, served the wedding cake. Yvonne Hartley and Bonnie Moore, aunts of the bride, poured punch.

On May 28, friends at Mount Olive Family Medicine Center held a bridesmaids’ luncheon at the home of Nancy Underhill.

Kristi Lee, Elizabeth Moore and Annie Moore held a lingerie shower May 15 at the Lee home.

On April 3, family held a bridal shower at the home of Carlton and Rosemary Moore.

Jennifer Britt and Michelle Hope held a Christmas shower Nov. 13 at Friendly Holiness Church fellowship hall.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Brass Lantern Steak House.
