Hazel Holland Pittman became the bride of the Rev. James Rudolph Rowe of Pikeville June 18 at 2 p.m.

The Rev. Vernon Braswell officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Rosewood First Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of the late Pat and Eva Holland of Kenly.

Parents of the groom are the late George and Leona Rowe of Goldsboro.

Given in marriage and escorted by their children, the bride wore a pink two-piece dress. The embossed jacket had long sleeves studded with pink pearls.

She carried a nosegay of pink roses with white streamers.

Ushers were Roger Pittman, Greg Pittman and Thomas Rowe.

Presiding at the register was Patricia H. Head of Pikeville, sister of the bride. Agnes H. Brock of Rosehill, sister of the bride, distributed programs.

After a wedding trip to Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Pennsylvania, the couple is residing in Pikeville.

The bride is a graduate of Nahunta High School. She is retired from Wilson Medical Center.

The groom graduated from Goldsboro High School. He is retired from Shepherd Electric. He is employed as a minister with Pikeville First Baptist Church.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in Braswell Hall. Renee Sauls was director. The couple’s children and grandchildren were hosts. Mildred Parnell, Marie Brogden, Judy Aycock, Shirley Smith, LaVerne Hales, Melody Thomas, Becky Glover, Patsy Coble and Mindy Glover were servers.

On June 15, a dinner was held at Pikeville First Baptist Church fellowship hall.

The Gleaners Sunday school class held a sleepover and dinner June 10 at the home of Ruth Davis.

On June 3, an outing to the Mudcats game was held.

A bachelorette/gift certificate party was held June 3 at Kobe’s of Smithfield.

On June 2, the Hilda Radford Sunday school class held a dinner at the Steak Barn.

The Gleaners Sunday school class held a bridal shower April 18 at Rosewood Church.

On April 15, Donald and Mildred Parnell held a dinner.

LaVerne Hales held a luncheon March 14.

On March 5, an engagement party was held at the home of the bride.

A program of wedding music was provided by Beverly Sager, pianist.
