Wanda Faye Artis and James June Hunter exchanged promises July 3 at 1:30 p.m.

Elder Joseph Williams officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Greater Guiding Star Holiness Church.

The bride is the daughter of Rosa Artist and the late Johnny Kornegay of Goldsboro.

The groom is the son of the late Lucy Mae Swinson and James Rudolph Best of Goldsboro.

Given in marriage by her mother and escorted by Charles David Troublefield Jr., the bride wore an ivory gown with lace and chiffon.

She carried a bouquet of white and blue teardrops.

Ora Mae Green and Gloria Howell were matrons of honor. Talea Hunter was maid of honor.

Dwight Jones was best man. Ushers were Anthony Armstrong and Whelton Armstrong. Groomsmen were Artur Lee Norville and Rommie Lee Green.

Tamilia Troublefield was flower girl. James Brandon Hunter was ring bearer.

Swanetta Norville directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Ashlei Danielle Cox. Dominique Jamar Cox distributed programs.

Special helpers were R. Hinnant, G. Armstrong, G. Howell and E. Vanderhorst.

A program of wedding music was provided by Gina Taylor, vocalist, and Johnny Vanderhorst.

After a wedding trip to Virginia Beach, Va., the couple is residing in Goldsboro.

The bride is a graduate of Goldsboro High School. She is employed in housekeeping at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The groom is employed in maintenance at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.
